Okay, I’m off of work I can give you (hopefully) better feedback.
The core that you want to keep:
-
Stinger
-
Scourge
-
Touch of Death
-
Vortex (Centipede)
-
Toxic Skin
-
The Devourer
with Gorilla Primary / Centipede Secondary
Several item choices point toward a poison-focused execute strategy: Shattered Vow (execute mechanic), Andariel’s (strong poison aoe), Writhing Moon (turns Stinger spam swarms into a potent damage source), Pestilence aspect (better swarm duration and uptime).
I have used Maxtatl w/ Wound Drinker before, it is a great vigor engine expecially when paired with Gorilla Primary aspect (aoe packs = infinate vigor).
The build does seem to be fighting itself a little bit mainly in the gearing section. You’re trying to split hevily into both: Poison/DOT and Thorns. Which unfortunately don’t synergize too well.
Since you seem to have a lot invested in swarms/dot I’ll approach it from that angle; as that seems to me to be the primary focus.
From testing, Maxtalatl thorn effect is a great utility trigger, but scaling its damage is difficult as it seems the % thorns effects do not apply to their damage (maybe a bug). So the points used for % thorns used in toxic skin would be better off with the vigor regen node, and the Devourer with the healing node (will help proc set bonus).
Only a tiny amount of thorns is needed to proc wound drinker, and can temper that in. Also since it seems to me to be a poison/dot with thorns support build; that makes Razorplate out of place. I’d recomend a generic chest w/defensive stats and a thorns temper. That would free up a defensive aspect; my personal recommendation would be Aspect of Debilitating Toxins which seems thematic (DR plus poisoned enemies do less damage).
Going back to the Tormenters aspect I discussed in previous post Tormenter’s dosen’t really function as how you’d expect (or at least how I expected it to function). Since you are already investing so much in swarms Aspect of Infestation seems needed as it synergizes with swarms and Shattered Vow’s execute mechanic as it would drastically increase poison application.
The Planner didn’t show if you rolled skill ranks on Balazan’s Bite set. If you haven’t, rolling +3 centipede or +3 gorilla skills makes a huge differance with damage (all the skills you’re using should have both tags).
Additionally, if you can, I’d reccomend turning Wound Drinker or Wrighing Moon into a charm to free up an offensive aspect. I like Aspect of Unyeilding hits, or Aspect of Supremicy (if you can keep stacks up it is a huge multiplier).
EOM as a rune for CD support seems wasted if you’re already using tempo for cooldowns (and you should have enough vigor generation with wound drinker to spam stinger for plenty of skill cooldown). CirVex is an option which keeps up +3 all skills with no downside (the exhausted portion of Cir rune only means it cannot be activated again for a couple seconds).
My stat priorities would be;
- Damage over Time
- Attack Speed (approaching 100% cap)
- Vulnerable Damage
- Primary Stat
- Poison Damage/All Damage (all damage will scale thorns damage)
- Enough Vigor Generation to sustain Stinger spam (should have enough with Wound, Maxtalatl, and Gorilla primary; may drop off single target but vigor from Toxic skin may bridge that gap)
- Enough Thorns to maintain Maxtatl/Wound Drinker triggers
But those are just my thoughts, take em with a grain of salt
the important thing is to have fun. I still have to do more testing with Maxtalatl’s, I feel like it’s stronger than people give it credit for, I kinda gave up testing it once I found a fully stacked Aspect of Lapa’s Scripture did not apply to Maxtalatl…which made me sad…so very very sad.
editing for spelling…eww. me Engrish BAD! My old 8th grade english teacher would be horrified.
edited again, forgot Vulnerable dmage on stat priorities.
