I am not getting any errors. I select “start game” on the character select screen. Screen turns grey then shows the load screen for about 1/10th of a second then returns me back to the character select screen.
I have done the following:
Scan and Repair from launcher
Uninstall from launcher/restart pc/reinstall from launcher
Uninstall from windows explorer/restart pc/reinstall from launcher
Uninstall from launcher/install to a new drive
Ensured I had correct graphic drivers
Uninstalled graphic drivers/restart pc/install graphic drivers
Run D4 in admin
Run D4 in low graphics
Run D4 in medium graphics
Run D4 in high graphics
Run D4 in ultra graphics
Changed World Tiers
And countless other “fixes” that I have read/watched videos on.
I get the same result every time. Load into game select character, grey screen, flash of load screen, back to character select. I had this same issue during the server slam event and just didn’t bother playing due to not wanting to waste my time. I played the first two betas absolutely fine (minus server crashes and here and there crashes which were expected with a beta).
Edit** I have now also tried downloading on another PC and I get the same problem.
Edit*** I can play when I am connected via mobile hotspot. I was able to log in and lag around but I was in none the less. As soon as I connect via ethernet I start getting the problems again.
Edit****Hopefully this will help someone. But I had to restart all the networking hardware coming into my house to my pc.
Same problem but on xbox. Started a fresh character that can load in no problem. My issue started last night after the game hard crashed at a blacksmith
Have a level 60 pre-release sorc with same issue still, even after two/three days. Started a rogue when that happened and now has become my main because I still can’t access that original character since the night of official release. No updates from anyone here with same issue?
Same problem here - this happened to me earlier on today when changing a world tier. Cannot log in on this character currently without being constantly returned to the character select screen and have had to create a new one.
I’m experiencing this issue as well on PC. I click on my L72 rogue at the character select screen, I hear a click, then I’m back at the character select screen. This does not affect my L1 mule sorc.
This was suggested by another user as a fix: Create a new character, log into the game, change world tiers from 1 to 2 or vice versa, then leave the game to get back to the character select screen. Now try logging into your bugged character.
I am currently at work and will not be able to apply / test for another hour.
Was having this same problem, followed the instructions to create a new character but didn’t work… But I got a fix, actually just change back one world tier from the character selection screen (I was on tier 3, changed to tier 2 and it worked). After I logged, I just got back to world 3 and everything was back to normal. hope it helps!
okay same problem but i believe i understand the bug, when your first beat the capstone dungeons and before you talk or touch the fountain to change world tiers and join someone’s party or someone else become party leader before you on a higher tier. The game goes into some sort of spasm thinking you are eligible and yet not eligible for the next tier because as you beat the capstone dungeons, u actually need to talk or touch the stupid world tier fountain before you are able to go to the next world tier. But if after beating the dungeon and you immediately join someone’s party or give leadership to someone that is at the next world tier, it bugs you out. To fix this, log out, change world tier back to 1 tier lower, go to kyovasad and then touch the world tier fountain.
