Respec cost will lose players

Even with respecs, when you leave town with a spec, you have to deal with the strengths and weaknesses of your spec.

You aren’t speccing out of the weaknesses. You may be swapping from spec A to spec B which have different strengths and weaknesses, but you’ll still have weaknesses. Every time you play build A, you’ll deal with the weaknesses of build A. Likewise, every time you play build B, you’ll deal with the weaknesses of build B.

If you pay attention to seasons right now, people play multiple builds on the same classes within the same season … there are even achievements for doing so assuming you accomplish things at a minimum level of difficulty with each of those builds (GR level, etc.)

Waiting 3 months (stated goal for season length) to play a different spec is sub-optimal.

Correct, Kick’s issues will remain Kick’s issues and free respecs would not change game balance.

So why not reap the benefits of having the free respecs instead of reaping the cons of trying to limit respecs with a cost or other mechanism.

I gave a nice, clean list reiterating the pros but you just brushed past it.
