Suggestion for the whole respec ordeal. I believe there should be some kind of restriction to being able to respec since there is PvP in the game. My suggestion is; make being able to respec free until you reach max level, then start making it where it is cheap to repec at first and it raises every time you do it.; which is the route they wanted to go in; I just added the suggestion to make it free then start charging to do it. Another option is the same as above, but when a player is out of gold, use specific and rare resources that you could get from open world events to repec.
I wonder how expensive it will be once the game is complete. For now I can pick up enough junk equipment in a single dungeon run to respec my lv25 character completely. Respec is more of a gold sink and not even that significant of one. I hope it stays that way. Not that I’m opposed to free respecs, but they just don’t seem expensive to me.
Yeah. I’m wondering as well. It doesn’t seem significant, yet…lol….
I just saw so many complaints against the respec system…
I think it should just be x gold for y skills respec’d no sliding scale. If it’s a sliding scale that could get expensive REAL quick once you respec a dozen or so times to try out skills.
How can people be against respecs? Imagine that, a game that doesn’t punish you for trying things. Now granted it might have PvP implications but if the devs balance the two independently and restrict respecs on the fly in the PvP zone it should work.
I see how a player could exploit going from a pure offensive to a pure defensive build when refining their red dust. It’s always a delicate balancing act.
I don’t think people are.
I’m saying that we will want to try different builds and find different skills so we will be respecing often… if the respec is on a sliding scale modifier then eventually (depending how bad the modifier is) can get prohibitive very quickly.
I’d rather it was just a flat fee based on how many skills you were respecing without the sliding modifier.
I think currently they implemented a sliding scale…… which is why there were complaints…
Correct me if I am wrong, but in one of the dev streams, they said it would get so expensive after respec-ing so many times that it would be better to re roll a character. My suggestion, was to combat that. We could use maybe rare resources that we could gather from open world events… etc or maybe seasonal events (scrolls)… to use. Then again, that sets it up for a perfect cash shop item right there…… respec option… perfect.
It also did not feel good when you have to respec the entire build just because you want to try a different primary skill.
