We don’t. You haven’t read it correctly.
You start a new char for a season. Your current chars just stay the same.

And we cannot play our main char ? I mean we do not all want or need to make a new char…

No you dont.
Eternal realm= Where your current character is. Nothing changes about your character. if seasons has any new legendaries or uniques, they will be put on eternal at the same time. You can stay here play same character when season starts, you lose nothing.
Season realm= Where you start a new seasonal character, will be converted to an eternal realm character at end of season.
Also was there some announcement or something?

The seasons are on a completely separate server. You do NOT lose your current character. At the end of the season, your seasonal character will get transferred to the eternal realm.

I’ve already stopped playing, time to make sure they understand what has to happen to get the millions of players back again.
A lot of it has to do with putting seasonal players at the bottom.
I’m confident they’ll understand very soon.

Season 2 ending is when you will see changes.

Your non-seasonal will remain - the season is an OPTIONAL extra content play mode [just like in D3]. You make a character for it to experience the new stuff once cycle early.
Once everyone has played through to 100 and gotten very comfortable with the mechanics etc. then seasonal character will start being created frequently enough. D3 had a full reset so more or less expect that for D4.
Again it is OPTIONAL and will not effect your non-season.
Everyone plays at there own pace - to each their own. I found season’s in D3 fun enough to participate often. Waiting to see what the season rules will be for D4 - but most likely I’ll run season’s just like I did in D3.

Sure. only changes we will see is more people coming to seasons, Because thats where majority will be, and eternal characters wont have many doing bosses etc etc. We’ll see you in season 5!

I’m not doing any seasons including the first free one. Once was enough of that slouch.
When changes are made I might be back but they require to put seasonal players where they belong, just empty leveling content, doing their characters over and over on resets like they enjoy and heavily put everything else on eternal for normal people.
Your current character won’t return to level 1 but you’re going to be forc….err happily creating another level 1, every 3 months, forever and ever and ever, just leveling up to 100 because you’ll have so much fun doing that.
Or just do what us normal people do and find a different game. Hope you had fun for the two weeks the game lasted.

Seasons are both free and optional: the second one will be as free as the first.
What does that even mean? Your answer is confusing at best and dumb at worst.
