Imma try and calm everyone down here … aspects aren’t that good (the ones you get from dungoens roll the lowest possible stats) and HC players can still mash alt+F4 when needed everything is fine nothing changed … HC will die from server lag it was always the main cause (((working as intended of course)))
“And players will still be able to repeat dungeons by partying up with others and having them start the dungeon”
Yup. Too many people asked for solo/single player mode so lets force them to play with a group or party they never asked for.
And apparently playing with others was “optional”.
They just legit went against “not an MMO game” speculations not that it matters to me but I can see this being an issue to some users
The only way to re-run a dungeon that day is to use someone else’s lockout?
That doesn’t sound very diablo…
My wild guess is they will re-think this soon enough I can see clans abusing this and solo players being left behind which to me is a no no !
This is dumbest thing ever. They had perfect dungeon reset button and they killed it.
It wont have effect at leveling but at the end game it will be horrible. Imagine you are standing at dungeon entrance begging people to let you in with them, what a crap.
Or you will have to make new game, if everyone will do that it will lag servers even more, you wont able to do that anyway becouse of queues.
Making new games just for run the same dungeons will be horible experience.
I think blizzard is overdone this.
I think they’re listening to the community a tad too much without properly analyzing the entire spectrum of things … this is a massive L for solo players
“Your Baal lockout will reset after you have completed 20 other Dungeons. Would you like to purchase an energy refill for this dungeon?” /s
But seriously, we are getting WoW lockouts and Mythic+ dungeons in a Diablo game.
Yeah I mean there’s a lot of good changes in this update but two or three of them are beyond awful. Hopefully they are walked back.
Lockouts is a good idea to prevent unintended ways of doing dungeons. You are supposed to complete them, not kill small groups and reset endlessly.
I was just reading through another thread on the same topic.
Question: What happened when you finished the dungeon? (meaning finished the objective and killed boss)
Did it stay locked/empty until you restart the game? Or did the reset button allowed you to reset the dungeon midway, without finishing?
I never used Reset Dungeon during Beta. I only run about 9 of the dungeons. I was more curious if all the dungeons really have the same mechanic to unlock the boss. Which they did. And half of them actually had the same type of the boss in them anyway.
It felt very repetitive and boring. Never even thought about redoing any dungeon after finding out they all work exactly the same.
Being a WoW player I’m used to lock outs but “this isn’t a MMO game” right fellas
I allways wanted freedom in games, if someone wants to just run and kill one elite in dungeon let be it, why should blizzard force us way of playing?
Look at the failed D3 everyone hate it, mainly becouse they killed the loot hunt aspect with sets and with items with 1000% of damage for some skill, totally killed D3 and now they are starting here do it same.
Well said mate … I feel like they’re holding on to D3 a bit too much since they want to reject mmo aspects even tho they’re telling us mmo feature in a arpg doesn’t make it a mmo game… when they come out and claim that d4 turned out to be a full blown MMOARPG game I will be pleased
Yeah, the problem with the way Blizzard seems to deal with things, in always the same way, is that they have this mentality of insisting the game is played exactly how they envision it. And they only envision one way to play the game.
Now I’m not saying Diablo 2 was perfect, but you have multiple ways to spend your time after you’re fully geared there. You can run Pindleskin over and over again right in town, for example. The Blizzard of today would never create something like that and would probably even call it an exploit. But it’s just another way to enjoy the game in Diablo 2; adding to the variety of activities.
Nobody just does that and that alone. It gets boring, so then they’ll go do something else like clear cows. Or do some Baal runs. Or now, they can do a world tour with the new terror zones which were a great idea – by the way, this makes me optimistic about the Diablo team and departing from this constant problem Blizzard has nowadays.
But what is wrong with just wanting to go into a dungeon that has a lot of elites in the beginning? Maybe someone just wants to reset that over and over again. Who cares? It would get old and they’d go do some other activity.
What’s wrong with resetting cellars over and over again? They don’t even grant that much and the loading screens barely make it even worth it. But it’s still fun to do from time to time and I enjoyed that during the beta. Why I get rid of it?
Because of the same reason that always plagues Blizzard in their modern games. They only want one way for you to play. Any departure from that is eliminated.
I fully respect this take , I sometimes feel like they still have that Warcraft :orcs vs humans mentality
just seems like an odd change, like…arent we supposed to grind dungeons?
why are people being forced into a dungeon they dont want to do, rather than blizzard simply balancing their dungeons?
“hey guys we noticed everyones doing these three dungeons because the layout / look / feel / shrines / boss / mobs / whatever is a lot more friendly towards how they are playing”
“they…WHAT?! NERF IT! NERF IT INTO THE GROUND! DELETE THE DAMN DUNGEONS! I WANT THE ICONS THAT SHOWED THEM ON THE MAP REPLACED WITH LAUGHING FACE EMOJIS”
rather than “oh ok, well lets make the other dungeons better to keep up”
I too would feel better if they just went full World of Diablo because it would get them to fully finish a lot of the missing social aspects so that their intentions on gameplay wouldn’t seem so obtuse. We would have global chat channels and group finders instead of nothing.
Just a reminder folks , Blizzard is known throughout all it’s titles to fix stuff that worked just fine and ruin it for “X” reason. I remember WoW days " if it works ,we will break it then say out loud “working as intended”
