Dear Blizzard Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m a software engineer as well as an avid player of your games, especially Diablo 4.
I am writing to seek your permission for a project I have in mind. I’ve noticed that managing inventory/stash can sometimes be time-consuming for players, and so I’ve been considering the development of a simple tool to alleviate this.
My proposal is to create a utility that reads item names, affixes and aspects from the game’s process memory, allowing users to search and filter their inventory items based on specific criteria. It’s important for me to stress that this tool is intended solely for improving user experience in inventory management and is not designed to provide any unfair advantage during gameplay.
However, after reading the Anti-Cheating Agreement, I understood that this may potentially be considered as unauthorized third-party software. I want to assure you that my intentions are purely to enhance the user experience and not to cheat, hack, or otherwise alter the gameplay in any unauthorized manner.
Could you please provide clarification on whether such a tool would indeed violate the agreement? If it does, I am willing to work under your guidance to modify the approach in a way that adheres to Blizzard’s rules and policies.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards
