So what are you guys doing as far as Renown? And i mean, you’ve finished the campaign mode and you have all side quest, dungeons (to attain the codexes) and strongholds to complete.
Are you guys doing these on Tier 3 or are you farming these on Tier 1 to get it done faster/efficiently?
I’m playing world tier 3, doing renown as a break from helltide and nightmare dungeons, I’m lvl 57.
Play the game as you wish!
No right or wrong way to complete the game!
I have tier 2 renown done for each area and tier 4 renown done for fractured peaks.
What does that even mean? You get the same amount of reknown whether you are on tier 1 or tier 4. I suppose you mean you completed those areas in those specific tiers, but there aren’t any separate reknown levels to get for each tier. You can get a total of 20 extra paragon points from reknown. If you could do that for every tier it would end up being 80 extra points.
Because I didn’t rush the campaign I had enough renown to unlock a couple of zones last two rewards as soon as I switched over the T3. I progressed everything on T2 because I wanted the game to feel a bit more challenging.
Now that I am T3 I am finishing up the renown on T3 as well also because of the challenge in addition to the better loot drops. Sure it takes more time, but the game isn’t going anywhere.
T3, if you can kill at a decent speed. overall much more xp and gold, much better gear increasing speed. Plus breaking it up with helltides and world boss etc makes it much more enjoyable imo.
I finished main story, did all my specific aspect dungeons to make sure i had a decent foundation for gearing. Switched to t3 and did everything else and didnt really struggle at all. (I still have many side quests and dungeons to complete) T4 lvl 100 is much more appealing to me though than spending time getting spider legs for larry at the cave in rock house
I was taking my time in tier 2 but I got to 53 and found out tier 2 is capped at monster level 50.
So now I’m going through the campaign so I can unlock tier 3 and then I’ll go back to my steady progress.
Yeah im kind of torn on this as well. I have tier 3 unlocked but im only 51 and my druid is very slow at clearing on T3 and Helltides are near impossible for me to do solo i die and lose all my shards over and over lol So it makes me kinda wanna do all this on T3 so i can collect gear while doing it but at the same time it just takes so long to clear anything so im wondering if the paragon points and stuff being earned on T1 or T2 faster would be more beneficial to make farming easier. Im not sure.
only one character needs to do the campaign, the campaign can be skipped on the others you can just grind to a comfortable level then do your capstone dungeon to unlock T3 on your alt without doing the campaign. but the Campaign does have to be completed to unlock T3 but not on all characters.
T3 for the lootz. In completing FP, I got two uniques to drop in the same dungeon, both upgrades, and now my druid is a tank because of the 4 extra Paragon.
Thats where im torn as well. But i think the benefit of doing it on T-1 speedfarming it is getting it out of the way, you never have to do it again and then you can do those same dungeons later at T3.
Someone mentioned earlier whether or not we have to refarm renown on our new seasons character. My thinking is if you complete the renown before seasons start it wont proc you to have to go through the whole process over. If im right then there is an argument to be made for speedfarming this on T-1. I think we have about a month before seasons start.
I was under the impression the renown was going to be like the Lilith Altars and we’d have to do them over at least once for seasons, like we do if we make a HC character.
You probably are right, i am just spitballing here. While it is not what we would like to hear is having to redo the renown, I could see them offering prizes for completing it which would make it worth it.
It’d be nice if some of this stuff was all account bound instead of by mode. I also wish they’d give us some info on seasons, since it’s only a few weeks away.
