Renown is simple to complete. It doesn’t take effort to complete other than a time investment. To the casual observer it would seem that the system is designed to FORCE you to spend time doing renown farming before you can do complete builds.
I would argue that it is a pointless addition to the game. It doesn’t actually accomplish its goal. People will play with or without the renown system. If anything, it throttles interest.
Blizzard simply can’t undo its groupthink. They do this nonsense in WoW.
Renown, as a game system, should be eliminated. Instead, the core questline should grant the rewards that carry over once completed one time.
