I think once renown is done on one toon, you should just be awarded an " I WIN" button, this way you wouldn’t have to play thru any part of the game again with any other toon you create for any future seasons, just press the button and you are lvl 100.
Or you can just stay on the eternal realm and not worry about doing the “grind” again…
Everything before the endgame loop is a chore after you’ve done it once (also the first time, in the case of renown). It was in D3 as well. The devs know this, which is why they eventually made it possible to get to level cap within a few hours in that game.
I’ve done it on softcore and hardcore for eternal realm, as well as again for softcore during this season 1. If I’m ever expected to do it again in future seasons, they can expect me to never be seen logged into d4 again
They should just make renown account bound. If you’ve done it on one character, that’s it, it’s done for every following character.
At the very least, award renown for things players actually enjoy doing, like NMD for example. Making us go back and re-do side missions over and over and over is not fun, it’s a grind.
I honestly don’t get these posts. You do side quests and the season quests and in a few hours you are 35 and have all the renown. Then the real grinding starts. When you have to do a bajillion stupid NMD’s to level up glyphs.
Devs want you to play it their way, no if ands are buts about it. Gave the season a try, hoping they can add some fun back into the game later. Alts typically keep me going, but they killed that with the patch since I have no desire to grind another through the early levels with powerleveling being dead.
yeah renown grind is stupid, just make it “one-time” for Eternal season then unlock the rest in other season (account wide all tier of Renown), i don’t want to repeat these boring side quests and stronghold every season.
how can some people think it’s fine to do that? super boringgggggg
Then don’t do it? I don’t understand why people feel obligated to do something they don’t find rewarding. You know what the clearest signal people could send the devs would be? Don’t do it. Suddenly their data will show that people aren’t doing it and they will want to tweak the numbers.
Leveling too. And potion upgrades, elixir recipes, Glyphs. Dungeons. Bosses, monsters. Eventually your character should just be alone in a barren world, sitting atop a pile of yellows.
