No you are misunderstanding
They said you DO NOT HAVE TO RENOWN GRIND
You won’t get it fully unlocked, only Lilith statues, exploration and main city way points will transfer. The rest you have to quest, find all the way-points and strongholds.
What are you going to do, from 1-50, if you aren’t playing the campaign? This isn’t D3 where that journey to endgame can be completed in a couple hours. WT2 is as high as you go pre-endgame. Unless there’s some major XP change they aren’t telling us about yet in seasonal play, it’s going to be the same basic slog to 50 in S1 it was at launch.
Take the campaign away…what are you left with?
It’s a big issue (at least for me) in this D4…
If you skip the campaign, you can only farm tree of whispers activities, which are the same all over the map for 50 lvl minimum…
The game need a journey like D3 so you can play something fresh to lvl up.
I don’t want to play the campaign each season/character for the rest of my life !
Exploration, doing the seasonal theme which looks damn fun, do dungeons kill monsters, profit?
I would farm dungeons, well doesn’t matter now i won’t play it anyway i didn’t think Blizzard was that much out of touch to let us grind all boring things all over again, i don’t know why didn’t they include lilith oltars as well when they included everything else, it’s much more fun to make alts on eternal realms rather then play this season
Wait… Renown was hard for you? After exploring the map, getting the statues, and casually poking around in dungeons, I barely had to “grind” at all. Did a couple side quests, did the strongholds, boom, done.

But yes @OP, for the info they did an 180% reverse and said noone’s gonna have to regrind renown… Just login with your highest lvl character and then all season 1 characters will have those Renown points unlocked
no offence but what is ur plan exactly to farm exp if u basicly want to skip anything? :))))))))))) are u guys even using ur brain jesus?
That true its also a problem but did you see in the stream battlepass currency, you have guaranteed League Heart at the end of campaign so maybe try it, its less boring than farming dongeon/whispper for trash lootbox.
im honestly schocked, like how do they expekt to get lvl 50? :))) they want renown for everything but what are they gonna farm for exp? 
… u know the campaign can be skipped on alts once u complete it for your main right… 
yes and u want option to skip side quests also? so wth are u even doing in the game to get exp, farming dungeons 1-50 than nightmare dungeons 50-100? :)) and thats ur gameplay?

That’s different than what they said in the stream. They stated we get to keep our skill points and other bonuses. They start talking about it at about 1hr 35mins.
