I am in no rush to get to WT3. I am having fun progressing after finishing the campaign. I am working on the renown for all 5 areas now. My question is this; if I earn renown past the third tier, will it be granted/counted once I unlock WT3? Can I earn max renown before getting to WT3 & 4?

The last two renown tiers can only be unlocked once you get to Nightmare. Only the first three renown tiers can be accessed at first playthrough either HC or SC.
Based on your info everyone should stop earning renown after third tier because it’s going to be wasted. If you don’t stop once you unlock last two tiers there’s no rwnown left to earn so you can’t get rewards from last two tiers.
it carries over I had the 4th tier in peaks auto unlock once entering WT3

Each thing you do is a set amount of exp towards the overall. It should carry over as there are only a limited amount of “first time” activities that grant exp.

I continued to complete the renown before I unlocked WT3. Once I unlocked it, the 4th tier unlocked immediately. You are safe to keep earning past tier 3 before you unlock the higher difficulties.

Any renown you get before T3, WILL carry over.
I hit T3 and was able to instantly finish the entire renown tree for Fractured Peaks, and the 4th tier for the druid area.
If you open your map, then open up your progression page, it will tell you how much renown you have saved up.

This is the same question I had. I’m level 10…and already almost full on first three sections of fractured peaks (I’ve had a eternal hardcore character do full rep, exploration and altars prior to season).
These blue ! quests for renown are really really good at lower levels. Good to know its not wasted. And yes I skipped campaign, so knowing the renown is not wasted…it’s just hidden or something is great!
