Remove the Paragon Board Limit

I feel like this 5 board limit kind of takes away the incentive to grind to max paragon points. currently, once you hit 260/70 you’d have all the necessary nodes and you’re just wasting the points on some weak magic nodes or even common ones. I understand devs decided to cap the board to probably balance the stuff easier, but I fear no one will be trying to get to the max paragon lvl (due to the massive XP requirement) in the future seasons, if there is not much power difference between 260 and 300.

Let eternal have something.

they screw up Eternal so many times, now it is ghost town

Before, one could have more than 5 then they just chopped it down with an axe. Those were the good days.

They were boring to me because the only thing worth doing was just seeing how many glyphs you could activate their second ability on.

Now I can actually take advantage of their primary ability and explore more yellow and blue nodes.

Way better.

Kinda but you finish that pretty early in paragon in reality and then you are grinding it just to fill in main stat nodes.

Yeah, eternal player here. “Legacy” gear is a really baffling concept to me. The expansion happens and a reset occurs, that is perfectly acceptable and expected. But, like, mythic items being only useful for sparks is kind of whack. If I find a shako on eternal I don’t want to need to find another one every couple months, that’s why I’m on eternal.

I have not found any mythics since launch but I guess I have been uninstalled like 60% of the total. I suddenly don’t feel bad for not having any though because literally nothing in this game is truly “eternal.” It frankly demotivates me from playing despite it being pretty transparent that it is trying to do the opposite.

When I got a shako in d2 that was never an issue despite that game being grindier in every other way at least when you got bis you were done with that slot.

I don’t seem to remember gear becoming flat out obsolete in d3 either, I mean the meta could change making your build irrelevant but I don’t recall ever being told I needed to grind the same pieces on repeat forever even in the non-seasonal.

Yeah but seasons don’t make any sense to me and it will ultimately get me to leave the genre, that and exorbitant rng. Those are two things I really needed only as much as before or if anything less. Remember that d2 was out for years before seasons? Yeah and it was fine in my opinion. Now that mentality of everything being temporary is the new normal I guess.

They did this to artificially limit player power because they dont want players just getting 9 boards with 9 glyphs. They dont know how to balance it. I think glyphs need to just be removed from paragon boards and put into a new fun system with more thought into it.

All paragon boards gain 1 more new keystone that takes the place of the glyph spot.

Six paragon boards is good enough to expend 300 points on valuable nodes.

And why do we need to incentivize players to paragon 300?

There are 2 reasons they did this:

  1. Curp power from paragon
  2. Make lv 260+ opinional as it doesnt hold a lot of power.

Personally, I think the boards should be greatly expanded in size, Legendary Nodes vastly improved, and another Glyph Node added to each - but players can only socket 1 per board.

With 5, it still feels very limited, and the choices made for the player ahead of time. There’s also the issue of activating nearly every desired node by P225 or so. Expand them!

It is change as the Dev want to shift the meta which players activate many Glyph as possible for multiplicative damage bonus. I don’t see any issue of current board system which we can activate more Legendary node, as many of them has improved with Multiplicative damage. Those addictive bonus from rare and normal nodes benefit some builds but maybe less impactful to other builds. I play Quill Volley SB which I make use every nodes of my paragon 300 boards.

The paragon system is designed to give less difference between 260 and 300 so players don’t feel they need to grind them. That’s the reason they give you a horse as reward for all the hard work.

Let’s see if you’re still optimistic about SB and don’t see any issue with the current board system after January’s SB nerf.

SB has been powerful even without the bugs. If you understand Blizzard’s work in the past, they always fail to patch everything. There is some unintended interaction still work in current PTR which I don’t want to report

are they giving out a horse every season? with SB being gutted I don’t see folks trying to hit 300, since the grind is going to be significantly harder. Whether you agree with me or not, this will hurt the end game if Blizz hopes folks will stick to playing the whole season.

said this since they introduced it.
it kills motivation and variety of builds and ability to make even weaker builds bit more usefull.
OP builds will be OP regardless of the number of paragon boards.
But weaker or niche builds would be much more viable with more boards.
also improve the paragon nods itself- i mean WHAT is 1,5% crit chance ???

because 300 points are available ?
what a question…

You can’t remove the paragon board limit. It needs to stay as 5.

I am fine with the 5 board limit, but they could make the boards more modular and customizable. Maybe fix the glyph and legendary glyph type and location and make the other rare nodes customizable where you can pick and choose from a list which ones you want and where to put them? That would make for some interesting builds in my opinion.
