Says who? Because if we base it on history, d2 was complex. I’m assuming you are using Diablo 3 as you reference? You may not realize this, but a lot of Diablo fans did not like Diablo 3 for its shallow character customization.
Yup, and merge a lot of the cc conditionals to make room for new more interesting modifiers.
They are all just placeholders to keep us farming for crit and vuln dmg, imo. Just go to icy veins(better than maxroll imo) and look at the builds. I don’t think a single build wants +close or +far dmg. Every build wants the same thing basically. Same stats as D3 but add Vuln.
Helm: Attack speed, cooldown
Chest: Dmg reduction modifiers
Gloves: + core skill, att speed, crit chance & dmg, vuln
Pants: Dmg reduction modifiers
Boots: Movement, +1-3 movement skill(shadow step)
Jewerly: crit chance & dmg, vuln
Weapons: DPS, crit chance & dmg, vuln. Use a Crossbow as Rogue for Vuln dmg.
If you choose these stats and do your paragon board right you will cruise through content. Pretty sure I was slapping mobs for 410k last night with Twisting Blades at level 78 in a 33NM. For anyone reading the shadow step aspect is key to getting out of CC.
well, i dont get why people are mad about it, but let me explain my point of view.
D3 got 7 classes, each class got average of 6-10 possible builds that is on average = 42-70 builds
PoE got 454 abilities you can customize. from a quick search on google, great
D4 5 classes each got 4-5 basic and 4-5 core abilities you can play around,
that is less than D3 and PoE, why arent you mad about that? do you believe they will add more abilities to the skill tree. i dont believe so
they rather add a new class but not add new abilities to the skill tree
The skill trees need to be expanded upon, that I agree with. Paragon needs to be it’s on separate exp bar, and level should go to 100 with new branching paths imo.
Yeah… only “some people” didn’t like d3. It’s a shame that was enough for them to leave the game without any content update for 8 years, let’s hope they don’t use the same criteria with d4.
I stop reading at “Diablo 3 the game we all love”.
Seriously…
Jay Wilson detected.
Hell no. If anything, I’d rather see a more complex skill tree.
D3 is a ghost town now, has been for a few seasons. Both D2 and PoE still have much higher numbers, and they are older games. Some people like D3, sure. But it’s pretty clear most people prefer the more complex systems and it gives those games more longevity.
yes, 100% agree but not stats on items make trees complex but not items that you read every few minutes to decide whether to keep it or not. just cuz its annoying
Those meta sites are full of bologna. I’m running a hybrid melee-ranged rogue and I was clearing mid 50’s NM dungeons at level 70. My build is nowhere on any of those sites. Most of those sites just copy/pasted builds from streamers that existed prerelease, and since then, they’ve just copy/pasted off each other.
None of those sites even had Blizzard as a top build until a random gamer beat uber lilith with it in 8 seconds, lol.
Those sites aren’t innovating or contributing to the meta in any fashion. They suck. It’s basically a bunch of gaming simpletons copying other simpletons, while listing good builds that actual gamers come up with, whenever those builds become popular.
If you’re getting into an older, established game, they’re worth looking at, but for a brand new game, people just need to theory craft and try their own builds.
D3 didn’t lack complicity to make it last, it lacked mechanics like bosses that acually are hard or something fun to do other than Greater rifts.
yes it was easy but fun, imagine every season they add a new thing to the game instead of just complex numbers to make you think. i am 100% with a complex skill tree but against items complexity
You’re very wrong. You do you though. Sure ya were…/wink. They are not perfect but the people posting those guides know what they are talking about. Maxroll however…meh.
Checks post history…oh…you’re one of those people. Welcome to ignore. You’re just a hater.
**Theory craft in Diablo…you’re hilarious. These builds are so simple there is no need. Bye Felicia.
I’m running my own non-meta Druid and smashing stuff too. For me, the puzzle of trying to figure out your own successful build is a fun puzzle and when all the pieces click in it’s soooo satisfying to know you “gamed” the system yourself without a streamer telling you what to do. Partly why I love PoE. So much potential to make your own builds.
Totally agree! I love creating my own builds. I’ll probably make a build tutorial for the one I’m currently running once I hit 100.
It’s hilarious how bad these meta sites are when a game is new, and all these guys just refer back to them as if they’re the gospel truth.
For an older, established game, there’s a good chance you won’t come up with anything original, but when a game is 3 weeks old, those meta sites are utterly useless as long as you have the ability to theory craft and build effectively on your own.
I really wish to go there, making my own build, but its hard with a small stash to keep all the legendries to decide if your build with your favorite abilities will work or not.
Huh???
How many stats did you have in D2, and how many in D3? How many equipment pieces in D2, vs D3? How many different types of damage? Available skill combos per class?
I could care less about the D2 vs. D3 argument, it’s an old and pointless waste of time, both games have their strong and weak points. But D2 more complex? It just isn’t.
Checkers is more complex than D3, so yes, D2 was infinitely more complex.
that’s not true at all.
And yet, when you look at actual data instead of peoples feelings, it’s totally not.
