Remove Mythic uniques from bosses

As title said. Remove the “guaranteed” mythic uniques from bosses and sparks. Only make them part of a global drop pool and increase the drop rate by a little bit.

Its not fun to have a loot hunt game when nothing is even remotely an exciting find. There is not a single unique that is even in the category that can be classified as an uncommon drop not to mention “hold on tight, im gonna say something scary” something that is actually rare.

I wouldn’t mind getting loot that I didn’t have to take right to the “bricksmith”
-ty to the user that coined that term. it still makes me lol.

No, making the BiS items rarer will kill whatever is left from this game. The point of an ARPG is the fantasy that if you play long enough, one day you will be able do build the perfect character. They clearly don’t allow this on the Eternal realm, if they make drop rates even rarer you won’t be able to do it in both Eternal and seasonal. And a “live service” game that doesn’t allow you do build the perfect character AT ALL, is not a game, but a :poodle: :poop: .

I agree, remove all the Mythics from Bosses, and give them to a reliable and trustworthy Streamer, to be distributed fairly among their most worthy Subscribers.

I 100% agree, dropped hundreds of those from the tormented bosses and 0 outside them. It kills everything about the surprise factor, you just go do those boring and easy bosses and expect for them to drop.
I understand target farming but the devs overdid it here. I would also remove them from bosses (or heavily reduce the drop chance ) and increase the chance in the other activities. Target farming mythic uniques should have never been in the game honestly, they are not build enabling just super overpowered.

What do you mean “they dont allow this on the eternal realm”? The legacy item thing?

@topic
I think that the addition of 3 new mythic items is to strengthen the foundation and a sign that Diablo 4 will continue the current direction.

The devs seem to understand that players are reaching the end goal of having purple items too quickly and are trying to give them more variety. What they choose to ignore is that all their work on itemisation below the mythic level will turn into garbage in the minds of players.

One of the reasons is that a player can just swap the overpowered stuff onto any of their class/alts and automatically have BiS from the start. The game will soon have a BiS purple item for every equipment slot, so you don’t have to bother going for anything else, which makes boss runs more and more important with each addition.

I am also not a fan of this and pointed out the issue in more detail here:

NO.
Its a casual based game and target farming is a good mechanic to reduce waste of lifetime

Yeah take out bosses as well and introduce loot boxes that way ………:face_vomiting: nope couldn’t get through it…

Indeed.

I am fine with these bosses having a higher droprate than the rest of the game, but it should not be to a degree that makes them the only viable option.

Similarly, all rewards should be available from all activities, each of them should just be somewhat better for one category of reward.

Imo there should be both:
Boss-only drops, like only this one boss can drop this one item,
and there should also be world drops that can drop anywhere.

these two pools should be exclusive, can’t find the boss-item in the world, and can’t find the world items from the Boss (in a boosted/guaranteed way)

i find it weird how every uber/tormented Boss has the exact same mythic loottable.
for the purpose of finding mythics, they’re all basically the same, no identity or anything…

How about leaving Mythics farming with bosses AND increasing the drop rate in the open world also (for those that don’t want to farm bosses) Why can’t we have both?

They are already part of the global drop rates as tiny chance. All you have to do is not fight ladder bosses and you can play this thing your way. OK sure, you won’t get the little increase in drop chance you’re after, but you simulate that yourself.

  1. Kill 100,000 regular mobs.
  2. Kill 1 ladder boss.
  3. Repeat.

Enjoy.

When something is available to you like killing some bosses and get free mythic uniques you will use it because, why wouldnt you? If you got a full set of mythic uniques from collecting all lillith statues on each of the different classes during a season the vast majority would do it. Does that mean its good for the game?

Not quite sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, it could just be argued that the guaranteed drop rates should be lowered rather than removed entirely. On the other, this could potentially just make the bossing grind all the more painful, and I’d much rather see the game rebalanced around play without them, while leaving them as chase items that actually DO make you OP when you get them as opposed to being mandatory items for resource sustain, CDR or survivability in high level content. The issue currently seems to be that they’re just so rare to the point that 99.9% of players probably won’t get them the old-fashioned way without bossing.

I agree it’s very tedious and boring.

It’s because of boss mats.

Without boss mats I can just solo farm instead of freaking grouping, spending time shouting in discord…it sucks.
