They should have just had aspects as something you can enable for each slot.

Pointless change tho… also it’s a nerf… there is a small chance the item drops with a aspect desired for that piece and everything is near BiS… then you can transfer aspect from it to another when BiS drops…

Yeah, I hate legendary and aspect system in this game. Almost none of them do anything cool. They’re all just “Chance to do a little more damage with X skill under Y condition”

i don’t think that it’s pointless, fake legendaries are incredibly bad for this game.
Aspects should drop as materials and not with this sound and icon.

Well…. Right now? I’m 100 so none. But along the way I’ve had some?
Aspects in general need a huge QoL boost. I’m trying to replace all my gear right now with ancestral stuff and it’s extremely annoying and time consuming to keep track of all this shi*t. We basically run into the house selling problem - person A wants to sell but the deal can’t close till person B sells, who can’t close till person C sells, etc.
This is what it’s like - I want to replace my amulet with an aspect on my ring, but I can’t do that till I can replace the ring with the aspect on my pants, but I can’t do that until I find new pants and the aspect I want to ultimately change (since you can’t double up aspects).
The occultist should have like a “swap aspect” function where you can move two aspects around maybe that would be nice. Or we could kanai cube and just have the highest rolled aspect go to our book (and all aspects would be in our book).

I just upgraded new rings, both of which dropped as legendaries. One had prodigy aspect w/ a 23/25 roll, the other I had to overwrite. So you can get good affix rolls on legendaries.
I actually prefer them drop as legendaries, because I’ve gotten a number of upgrades that way, and also I can salvage them.
I usually don’t want to keep the aspect, I’d rather have the salvage.
Lastly, before higher levels (don’t recall when it changes), items that drop as rares only have 3 affixes, not 4, while legendaries have 4 from the start and make better bases.
I proposed something like that. Remove legendary items and buff Codex from dungeons so they are not useless anymore and crafting them is more meaningful.
Or maybe add separate screen for Aspects that would work like Kanai Cube in D3 so we can equip item with better stats without losing aspect. That would also benefit equipping Uniques and keeping aspect in that slot.
Uniques are just fine as one tier higher than rare. I like their D2 inspired ui golden color more than D3’s orange. Also remove random colors from rares on their 3D armor look. I don’t want my character looking like clown again like in D3.
I am guessing aspect was meant to be flat bonuses and a new system and you could pick one per defense, utility, offense etc and have cool legends
Then half way through dev they were like nah lets not make new legends just update aspects to our legends to cut costs

Zero imprinted items on my character. Because I feel like I need to wait for something relatively bis to imprint upon, otherwise I’m wasting the aspect.
I would not have minded it if every aspect you extract went into your codex. I do realize they drop more than once and at different strengths, but I do hold all my legendaries and probably don’t use them as much as I should because I don’t see the point of imprinting them on a slightly better random rare then outleveling them anyway.
The system needs work is what I’m trying to say.

They should be in the skill tree or on the paragon board or in a different type of socket on the paragon boards.
