Why on earth would you make a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER game and make everything bound?? Force me to play with others but cant trade with them?? Obvious choice is get rid of the MMO aspect nobody asked for (way too much work and not enough time) OR unbind gear. The mess called D3 proves there will be bots anyways so unbind all the gear and make this a true Diablo Game instead of some whiney sanctuary where everyone gets a participation trophy

Short version. No.
Long version. Hell no. Trade as it is will enable RMT, which means bots, which for a good while at the start means queues longer than they should be, as it is.
Entirely open free trade/removing bound items would FLOOD the game with bots, and entirely remove the NEED to play to progress.
Worst idea posted on these forums since they reinstated needing a key, by far.
You are literally asking for everyone to just be given particpation trophies, without having to work for anything.

those of us who have friends want to trade items between each other. The game wasnt only made for you loners.
Trade should be in diablo as it has always been in every Good diablo game, free, open, and unrestricted.
The game has smart loot. You aren’t obtaining upgrades for your “friends”

We get your wife is incapable of playing on her own and needs you to carry her. Maybe this isnt the game for her.
Making changes that impact the quality of the gameplay (servers, with the 10s of thousands of bots, and thats a low EDUCATED guess) and literally making the game so unrewarding because you can be handed everything simply because of her incompetence, and your want isnt going to happen.

In time, trade will become even more restrictive, and that will be a good thing overall.

trade will not become more restrictive, as the vast majority of players want free and open trading. It’s only the forum whiners and loners here who cry about it because they don’t have friends and want everyone to be as miserable as they are.
Guarantee ive better SSF records for every single diablo game than you.
You can choose not to trade if you dont want to, you are only impacted by open trade if you choose to partake. PERIOD.

WoW has had character bound gear since vanilla and is very clearly an MMORPG that is more massive and social than D4.

In a perfect world, we’d have open trade and everyone would really enjoy it, but that’s ruined because games need to be designed in such a way as to negate or minimize exploits. Free trade would have bots running nonstop and trading their loot with other players for money or an edge. You’d have people spamming websites and advertising everywhere.
I’d be willing to have trading servers and non-trading servers that are entirely separate from each other. If the bots start hopping to the non-trading servers to advertise, the idea should be scrapped.
The only realistic way I can see them stopping them from spamming on the non-trading worlds would be binding your ENTIRE ACCOUNT to one or the other. This way, if you REALLY wanted that piece of gear, you’d have to make an entirely new account and get another copy of Diablo IV and bind the entire account to the trading server. That account wouldn’t be able to interact with the previous account. Essentially you’d need to buy a second copy of the game, bind that account to the trading server and stay there for that one gear piece.
Congratulations! You’ve got your gear but at what cost? You’ve now paid for two accounts that can’t interact with each other. Have fun in that trader’s server with the item can be farmed by bots and is far less useful.
This is literally what you’re asking for.

I agree. Bound gear is lame and something that should be reserved for true MMOs. We need free trading. A best of both worlds approach would have an AH that is anonymous while at the same time restricting person to person trade to those in your party when an item drops. That would likely cut out all of the RMT aspect of trading.

Go look for xxxx item with a current bid of xxx and a bin of xxx. Buy it. When you give me the 40$ or forum gold for it, ill return what you paid in game.
That wont stop a damn thing.
Anything done other than elimination might make it less convenient, but it wont stop it, especially with easy profit to be made.
