In a twitter post today, developers admitted they can’t code this game well at all, and because of that everyone is forced to load everyone else’s stash tabs creating performance issues for the game. This is the whole reason why there is so little stash space, and why adding even one stash space probably tanks game performance by 10 percent.

well thats bad design if true. What have you read/seen that leads you to make this argument?

Well, I wonder how Grinding Gear Games does it without lag?
I wonder if Blizzard are saying that GGG’s are better coders than themselves? It would seem so.
I didn’t believe a word of this garbage that they said… I think they’ll probably sell stash tabs like PoE does in the future. But, at the very least, each character should have 3 or 4 private stash tabs, and 1 shared… It’s ridiculous that they are all shared.

The only other game I’ve ever seen with an issue similar to this is ffxiv, because they are still working out spaghetti code from the game’s initial disaster of a release prior to ARR. They have been making improvements in that regard for a while now. There is ZERO reason for a game released in 2023 to have this kind of problem.
Sadly i don’t think they will sell them like everyone expects. I think they really have an issue with the way they have coded the game. I remember the devs saying something similar with d3 back in the day amd d3 never sold more stash space either, itt became a reward. Id rather buy them tbh.

According to his twitter Profile JPiepiora is the Associate Game Director on Diablo IV
When we say they are expensive what we mean is that they create a lot of memory overhead. When you see another player in game you load them and their entire stash filled with all their items. This is what teams are working diligently to improve so that we can have more asap.
LMAO! Well…good thing there can be only 12 people in a game…
Seems like Blizzard has become a bunch of amateurs in this industry.

I wonder if this has to do with the supposedly coming direct storage patch?
I am also curious exactly what gets loaded, textures and other assets? I am assuming?
Yeah thats true. Imagine running into a group of 100 players and being frozen for like 10 sec due to lag while the memory desperatly tries to catch up
Cant be much worse than the rubberbanding and invisible walls though
2023???And this kind of low-level error, the whole developer is garbage!
