It works great, especially for classes and players that utilize the shift key to stay still while using abilities; and for those who have a lot of muscle memory from FPS games! I just remapped and have a lot fewer misclicks and misses, especially when casting from skill slot 1 and 2. And the ‘A’, ‘S’, and ‘Shift+S’ bindings are all low-use and easily rebound; and the W and D arent even mapped to anything by default. You can even take it a step further and assign W to offensive skills, and S to defensive skills, and A and D to auxiliary skills to further correlate it to FPS gaming that many of us may be more familiar with!
I suggest tryin it!
Also interested to hear any other suggestions for key bindings!
If spending money is an option, something like a gamepad is very nice as it is customizable and ergonomic.
I miss the days of my Belkin Nostromo n52 and apparently my Razer Orbweaver is outdated already. If interested, look up the Razer Tartarus for their newest gamepad offering.
Very interesting layout!
I also have a mouse that has 3 thumb-buttons and 3 index-finger-buttons (Logitech G502 X PLUS, which I highly recommend), and those extra buttons definitely seem like they could be remapped for better efficiency and aiming. And the scroll wheel! Great ideas! Thanks!
Also somebody else mentioned using the Space key for “Forced Move”-- another great idea that I’m gonna try out!
Use Mouse with Left hand - standard configuration. M/A/I like always.
Number Pad for all else. Nice & square, linear and isolated(along with pgup/pgdn/end Emote/skill select/specialization up/down/r arrows Mount functions.
Can’t imagine using qwert/wasd/1-0/f keys etc. Thinking about it hurts my brain.
