Reintroduction of negative shrines - a bold and unexpected move!

I don’t recall seeing shrines with negative effects since Diablo 2! I don’t believe there were any ‘bad’ shrines in Diablo 3 (correct me if I’m wrong), but I have fond memories of stuff like the Fire Shrine in D2 (it certainly made Hardcore a bit more spicy at times).

I’m pleased to see that this is a feature that is being explored again. However, I would make a small suggestion: rename the Conduit Shrine to something like “Shrine of Enfeeblement” to better reflect its new functionality (significant loss of DPS and mobility).

First they said their reworking conduit shrine

Second d2 did not have any negative shrines on d1 had negative shrines

Pretty sure most people would consider fire exploding in your face and massively chunking your health down to be pretty negative

Fire Shrine comes to mind, you’d click it, it would explode with a circle of fireballs, but they would hurt you and enemies alike, so I mean it could be useful in the right situations I guess?

Fire Shrine is a Shrine in Diablo 2. Fire Shrine creates a burst of Fireballs that reduces Hit Points by 50% on those hit by a Fireball. Reduction affects both characters and enemies.

Yeah, or, mini heart attack if you click it without looking in HC!

What are you talking about?

We already have a negative shrine.

It’s called the Conduit shrine. Click it by accident and watch yourself struggle to do 10% of your dps.

For a while sure but once you knew what the shrines did you wouldn’t touch them after that

And I don’t know anyone thats willing to touch conduit shrine atm

Yup make a shrine which after you click, all the gears you receive in 7 days will have minimum affix roll. This will affect the Mythic Uniques you get too

Yeah but getting that on the first few lvls was great cause you could sell each exploding potion the shrine drops for like 300g each.

I can’t stop myself from touching any shrine, including the ones that you find yourself fighting off 6 waves of creatures for rubbish

Oh yeah. I totally forgot that we actually do have literal cursed shrines

Bit of a different thing, but yeah. Now that we actually want to spend more time in NM dungeons to farm obducite, I love those things!

D1 also had fun stuff like a few mobs that would permanently reduce your life total.

Yeah and don’t forget the poison shrine.

And the poison shines where just as annoying.

You mean the zombies called Black Death ya those were fun times

Oh yeah, there were the shrines that could either randomly boost or permanently reduce your stats!

Can you imagine that now. People can’t even handle it when the temper roll doesn’t go their way.
