Regarding D4 hate

Please feel free to discuss, or like in many other threads argue about the game/franchise. Just here to give my two cents.

If you’re a D2 fanboy and are just looking for another D2 please stop calling D4 bad because you didn’t get what you wanted. Or if you’re just hating on the game because YOU dislike it, there is no need to come on the forum to scream it as to feel heard. If you are dissatisfied with what you’ve seen from the beta, get your refund and move along.

Having played all the games since D2 forward I can say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each game and what it offered. Besides Immortal - obviously.

Blizzard was clear with their intentions for D4 and so far I think they’re doing a good job delivering. From what I’ve seen of the beta of course things are not perfect, as it is a testing platform. But that’s to be expected with any game in early access.

If you love it, great me too. If you hate it, that’s fine. Get your refund and stop whining. No one is forcing you to buy it, play it, or even like it. You’ll always have the old Diablo games, PoE, or another Arpg you feel is Superior.

Well said, op. Exactly how I feel.
Nostalgia and inability to cope with change is very visible on the forums.

I’ve honestly loved playing it too, and I lean much more heavily toward D2 than D3. But I got my D2 remake, so I’m content there.

Same goes for people screaming that it should be another D3. But like others have said, if you venture outside of these forums, you’ll see the actual reaction of the vox populi.

Anyone I speak to in person says they’ve enjoyed it or have very little to say in the ways of criticism. And seeing the droves of negative posts in contrast just wasn’t adding up to me.

forums are full of trolls… unlike me, never trolling…

I dont hate it, but I certainly think it has some good and some bad things.

I really dont see an issue in people focusing on the negative things however, since those are the ones needing attention.

I don’t disagree. Pointing out things that may not work, or are more or less a pain point in the game is just fine. Criticism is fine so long as it’s constructive and not just blatant complaining.

If only. The haters are most often just seeking attention and they will just keep pouring out their hate.

Criticism is one thing that’s fine. Bile spewing anger is not.

Unfortunately you’re right

Like most things in modern society,
The negativity comes from a small group of extremely loud people.
The quiet majority seem to enjoy what we have so far by looking at the pre-sale #'s and how many hopped in to play the beta.

Let the karens karen. ( insert screaming street beanie lady)

No one takes this “hate” seriously I assure you, not even the devs, most of the people hating on the game is a MrLlammaSC trained parrot, Kriparrian parrot, any kind of D2 diehard that even though they just got D2R thinks that every arpg should be a D2 clone.

This is the kind of people that offer nothing of real value to any conversation as they are incapable of change, they don’t even allow themselves the chance to like something new, there is nothing anyone can do to reach this people, they are like a cult, just pretend they don’t exist, in the grand scheme of things they actually don’t .

That is hilarious! 10/10.

D2 is the purest of form, deal with it.

I’m fairly confident that majority of the hate for the game isn’t coming from people that wanted another D2, but people that expected a fully fleshed out modern game.

Besides the graphics, D4 is nothing more than a glorified 70 dollar mobile game, with very simple systems that were inspired by D3 and work almost identical to how the D3 systems work but with less depth.

D4 is lacking every way imaginable for a game that’s releasing in June. It’s the D3 release all over again and many players are going to find out after the novelty stage wears off that the game is overly simplistic for the price they’re asking for.

lol, look in the mirror

So was Angelina Jolie, 20 years ago.

There’s a very good reason the majority is called “silent majority”, while the minority is always called" vocal minority". Guess it’s no coincidence.

Well they want our feedback or they wouldn’t have open forums otherwise. You can’t expect all feedback to be positive. For the most part i enjoyed the beta, however theres plenty i dislike. Such as hc. There’s far to many grieving options in the game. Having skill points and potion charges locked behind forced activity. Trading of rares is just atrocious. It will lead to rmt on perfectly rolled rares. Hopefully they add a system to where if you trade a rare its flagged as a traded item and you cant infuse it with a legendary power.

Some of the posts are ridiculous I’ll agree, but there’s also a lot of good feedback here from people who enjoyed the beta but recognize its going to have design issues that will hold it back.

A forum full of people doing nothing but praising the game won’t lead to anything improving.

Like any game, especially continuing a series like Diablo, you will find players that want it to be the way they envisioned it and get upset when the actual game does not meet those expectations. It happened to me with D3.

I simply stopped playing D3 and moved on to another ARPG that I thought was personally better and gave me either all I was looking for or at least more than D3 did.

It wasn’t until D4 beta was approaching that I caught D2:R and D3 Xpac on sale together that I played it again and I found out that the hate I had for it was not warranted. The QoL changes over D2 were actually very nice and not appreciated by me at the time.

I’ve played since D1 and looking back over all the games, I have to say the QoL changes with each game make me appreciate them far more now than I did when they released. QoL > nostalgia is what I’ve learned. I do miss unique things from each that are currently missing from D4 but they always can be added. If not than it’s fine. I’ll deal with it.

To each their own.
