So I just dropped a 799IP Ancestral Razorplate with a 10,766 Thorns roll.
I decided to equip this on my McFlurry/Rapid Fire (cold/psn) season 1 build, just to see how much damage it would actually reflect. It is
ABSOLUTELY BONKERS!
I never would have thought I’d be equipping thorns on a rogue build, but I must say, this thing has saved me countless times in a matter of hours by having elites absolutely destroy themselves in 1 or two hits.
On a pure thorns build, this thing would be pure insanity.
Needless to say, I’m going to be handing out free Razorplate McFlurries for a while

I have a 779 Razor 10,528 thorns with 2 sockets (maximum life) on my level 85 melee Rogue (TB/Poison Trap/Poison & Shadow Imbue) and really loving it too! Have a Needleflare aspect on my amulet for additional damage hehe.
It’s an unconventional armor piece for a Rogue but working well so far.

I’ve been rolling around a thorns build idea for my rogue too. I’m more curious now.

If you do decide to try it out, the Razorplate unique is a must for sure. The only concern I’d have would be finding ways to regen life, as the regen for the rogue is currently mediocre at best, and is limited to only a couple of skills.
Edit: I’m not sure why, but the system automatically removed the quoted text I added.

I have Life on Kill and Life Regen affixes on a couple of my gear, plus the Stolen Vigor aspect…works well enough for now.
That’s so interesting, what level content are you running?
I think the concern is that you lose a fair bit of defensive stats because razor plate doesn’t roll good stats. If you can survive, it’s certainly worthwhile.
At time of writing, I was level 70 running level 30 NM dungeons with the only defense aspect being the one that gives barrier when healed over 100% max life, and then using +40%(x) damage with an active barrier. The rest are all damage boosting aspects. I’m currently collecting defensive aspects to run higher tier dungeons, but for now, tier 30ish seems to be sufficient for survivability.
