For Loot Reborn, devs significantly decreased the number of items that drop when slaying monsters, but rares specifically are still dropping like candy, especially in Helltides.
If they would simply reduce the drop rate for Rares by factor of 10, this would be a big improvement to the game and reduce screen clutter. By the very defintion, Rares should not be found in large numbers!
Rares are yellows? Why would anyone pick them up anyways? They could just get deleted out of the game as they are obsolete with this season. They have 1 affix less than a legendary and thus nobody will ever do anything else with those items than vendoring them. Same goes for blue items and white items, both are just useless fillers with the sole purpose of selling/salvaging them.
because there isnt a loot filter so you can’t hide anything yellow or below and when you are clicking to move - you are accidently picking up the junk loot. Or when you kill the tormented version of a boss (level 200) you get 999 yellow items and 10 or so uniques and you have to shift thru all the yellow crap to get the handful of uniques…
Thats why I let most stuff on the ground and pick only those 2 uniques that drop and the 1 GA. I´m picky on picking up things.
The other junk gets then send to my chest, I take it and sell it.
Delete them all, and just make mats fall that the pet can pick up.
There is no need to ever even look at rares since they have less affixes than Legos.
I was thinking adding an aspect to an item would add a random affix when it became legendary, but it just became a useless 2 affix lego - that’s kind of pointless and short-sighted.
I have a better idea. You know how rares are worthless after finding a native legendary for any given slot due to losing out on an affix? Allow them to roll with GAs in all world tiers (with each tier’s GA maximum going up accordingly). That way when you find a rare it can potentially still be useful until you find a replacement legendary with the affixes you want/need. This could be especially useful for those slots that give +resource or resource generation, etc. And remember, you can’t reroll into another GA, so if you reroll, you lose the GA just like with legendaries.
At least this way rares are actually potentially useful again.
At this point might as well just get rid of them. They are only good to salvage early on and to sell for gold. Granted typically after 2-3 pit runs my inventory is full of legendary.
