Rare Arcanas Not Dropping at all

Just wanted to share something that’s been really frustrating this season.

The item Rare Arcana is supposed to drop from Horadric Portals inside Nightmare Dungeons, right? Well, I’ve already completed over 40 Nightmare Dungeons, opened every Horadric Portal I found, and haven’t seen a single Rare Arcana drop.

The only one I have came as a reward from a seasonal quest — nothing from actual portal drops.

What makes this even more confusing is that I have friends who are much lower level than me (around level 43–44), and they’ve already gotten 7 or 8 Rare Arcanas. Meanwhile, I’m level 60 and got nothing.

It honestly makes me feel like Diablo might be “selective” with some accounts.
Last season I had a similar issue with Mythic Uniques — I killed over 500 bosses and only dropped 1. Others were getting multiple Mythics with way less grind.

If this is a bug, I hope it gets fixed. But if it’s some kind of hidden RNG imbalance, it’s honestly demotivating.

It’s just bad rng. Blizzard doesn’t even know you exist. You’re just a number in the data.

You have claimed the “rare arcana” reputation cache right? They won’t drop until you’ve claimed that. Like though it’s just RNG, but no way to know for sure.

They are aware of it, but I dont know when it will be fixed unfortunately

Check the hotfix at the top of the forum. They are aware and trying to get arcana drops, and a few other issues, fixed. Probably by Thursday.

actually, they are not. It’s a bug.

actually OP I should have asked, are you getting Arcana, but just not rare Arcana? I think the patch notes say all Arcana should be more available but I’m wondering if the rare Arcana is another issue entirely.

It is a bug that they are working on. Arcana isn’t dropping as intended. Do whispers instead while waiting for them to fix it.
