Randomly crashing/disconnecting when teleporting anywhere

Hello i have the issue when teleporting from anywhere to somewhere i randomly disconnect. It’s not consistant to what point in time or action that leads to this issue.

What i can say is that when the disconnect occurs the whole system freezes up briefly.

I wholeheartedly believe that this is issue revolves around amd graphics drivers, Windows 11 24H2 and Diablo allocating system resources.

16 Days ago i did a fresh install of Windows 11 24H2. Just to make sure the system is not at fault.
Sadly it did not take long for the issues to haunt my gaming experience. Not long after my first login while grinding i disconnected. Later that day the game crashed completely.

I did some research latley and tried to find a fix for the issue. After digging through my application eventlogs i found the entry why diablo4 crashed. The event was called RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64. According to my research it is Microsoft’s Memory Leak Detector so that error indicates an App/program is not properly handling memory.
So circling back to my assumption regarding Windows 11 24H2, Amd Graphics Driver and d4 not allocating resources properly. The mentioned error underlines my assumption.

As for my setup.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
RAM: 32 GB DDR 4
Storage: 2 NVMe SSDs 500GB+1TB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX6750 XT
Driver Version: 32.0.13031.3015 (is the most recent up until posting this report)
Driver Date: 25.02.205
OS: Windows 11 Build 24H2

Side note but is not really relevant. I am also playing the game on the steam deck and have no issues whatsoever.

Anyway i hope this contributes to finding a solution to the issue at hand.

Good hunting.

Yeah… D4 is a VM hog. It doesn’t really “leak” memory in the traditional sense but it does end up using so much virtual memory that the page file eventually fails to handle the swaps and for all intents and purposes it looks like a leak. There are multiple posts in the technical support forum on changing your page file size.

There’s also an option in DirectX 11 and higher called DirectStorage. It and the game get funky with VRAM so you might want to try turning it off. Go into the launcher and add “-disableds” to the command to start the game.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input. I will try the “disableds” approach. I even set the paging file to a static size(64GB) so the system does not have to calculate size anymore. But to no avail. And today it is so severe that everything freezes to. But sound is running normaly though.

Edit: Sadly it does not help. Got the memory leak in the windows eventlog again. It’s just so frustrating that i dont even bother popping elixirs or anything else.
