I played during the open betas, early access and post launch. During that, I was able to get 60fps lock 1080p max settings with the highres texture pack downloaded, about 30% CPU usage and 50% GPU usage.
Ever since the season patch, the game will randomly spike the usage to 100%, causing the framerate to drop to the 30s as a result. This can last anywhere for 10 seconds to a minute or so. This is the only game it’s happening in.
I posted about this yesterday, but deleted it because I thought downloading the most recent Nvidia driver fixed it. It’s still happening however.

Noticing the same thing. Extended multimonitor freezing. Can take a few seconds then catches up. Temps are great, no Event Viewer errors. Definitely game related.
I shut down all system tray programs. No joy.
I forgot to mention, adjusting settings doesn’t stop this from happening.
EDIT: I closed MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner and played for about an hour, didn’t have the extended FPS loss issue. Still had freezing for a couple seconds on some area transitions and stutter from lag, but the FPS issue went away. If that’s the fix 1) I know a workaround and 2) Hopefully Blizz can reimplement support for Afterburner soon.
