Raiment of the Infinite

Really disappointed that this issue was missed during this major patch update. Teleporting into groups with this unique item causes characters to get either stuck, or rendered unable to arc lash the enemies that are trapped there with you as you get stuck with them (the spell misses not matter which direction you’re lashing in when the enemies get trapped on top of you) This is a key item for many builds.

There are TWO aspects that let you walk through enemies to avoid this problem. Look for Aspect of Binding Embers or Ghostwalker Aspect

There is no reason to teleport into groups anymore since the Aspect of Control was nerfed. It would better in late game to just use a decent chest piece instead of Raiment. You are just inserting your more squishier self into a death pack without the added damage benefit.

Yeah I think it’s unusable for higher content. It may have use for some builds that want to stun, but it’s definitely far less potent now than it was.

Before yesterday, it was totally viable at least up to the early 60sNM. But I wouldn’t touch anything higher without a very solid effective health/dr chest because it would be absolute suicide. I love Raiment. It’s a cool item with a great gimmick, and it’s a fun speed run piece. But it’s absolutely not viable in a game where the second or third rung of endgame content for a class with massive DR issues and a totally broken main stat mechanic (resistance) is incentivized to jump INTO elite packs, blow all of its DEFENSIVE cds to magnify its nuke potential instead of using them as …you know …actual DEFENSIVE tools, and also has massive sustain issues for multiple builds on top of it.

I’ve only playe some barb and druid outside of my 90 sorc, but man the class design for sorc truly boggles the mind. I’m genuinely stunned and just super confused how ten years of development results in the sorc’s current design state.

Not true.
Shock spec has no cd on teleport and damage on teleport is respectable. Additionally it’s 50% longer, aoe stun on demand.
Frost benefits from pull, as Shatter combo damage is amplified with mob density.
Pyro get new Malignant Heart that works exactly the same as bugged AoC:
Creeping Death (Wrathful, Super): Your damage over time effects are increased by 30-40% for each different Crowd Control effect on the target. Unstoppable monsters and Staggered bosses instead take 110-130% increased damage from your damage over time effects.

I had to quit using it even after equipping the aspect to walk through enemies after going unstoppable (which is another topic entirely, having to use an entire aspect that gave no extra damage and no real survivability since it didn’t give you any sort of protection beyond the ability to move a bit before getting frozen or one shot, so Raiment meant losing TWO aspect slots) because it felt like I was just speed running the mobs to unstoppable? 1 teleport made them stay stunned for way longer than the 2 or 3 I had to throw just to keep my barrier up and survive the damage puddles/off screen enemies.

I played with a group and with all of us having some sort of CC ability the monsters never seemed to stay stunned. It was just a casual group so I was running a pure lightning/no vuln build and just stopped caring about “damage to stunned/CC’d” because the amount of time they actually spent controlled felt so insignificant.

Raiment is garbage anyways. If you wanna push high tier nm dung then you need dmg reduction, and you don’t wanna kamikaze into mobs at melee range. Stop falling for that noob trap.

A better solution to push high tier nm dungeons is rolling rogue or druid instead of this joke class.

I stopped using Raiment of the Infinite since we can’t stack aspect of control damage anymore. In addition, our defenses have been nerfed which puts us at greater risk of getting 1 shotted especially if your damage fails to kill the elite mobs you just teleported into.

I found a more defensive chestpiece with the shield that absorbs 6700+ damage when you do damage to an elite to be much more valuable due to all the nerfs. Maybe I will go back to Raiment of the Infinite in the future but right now I can do the same damage without using this unique. This was once our best unique item; unfortunately, due to all the nerfs the Raiment of the Infinite is not so great anymore.

Well yes I already rolled druid, got my tempest roar at lvl 64 and it’s been smooth sailing ever since.

Blizz wasn’t going to make the most popular class OP or even as good as the others, that much was obvious. Not sure why people are still playin sorc the writing has been on the wall for some time.

That doesn’t solve the problem. You’re swapping out badly needed aspects to avoid the bugged chest piece.

At some point no amount of defence will save you. So Rainment is again at that point back in the game because the added CC. Also Rainment is pretty freaking good for farming. Just because it fails on one certain aspect of the game doesn’t make it garbage. And arguably it’s still the best unique outside Shako that Sorc can equip. Now you might argue that Sorc uniques are garbo, but hey such is life of a Sorc main it seems.

They gutted an already squishy sorc class, IMO Raiment was always a must have because of the utility.

I’m blizzard/shard/spike/frost nova spec- I don’t know what to call it exactly. Sorry. But I use this chest piece like crazy & have amazing effects with it. It’s definitely an important part of my build currently. I’m level 99 & have great damage using. I slaughter things bc of it. I’d be very pissed if this Unique got messed with tbh.

Yes, either one of those solves the problem the way you’re using the ability. It’s not bugged if you’re surrounding yourself with enemies while not leaving a way out. Teleport to the edge of the monster pack not in the exact middle and they’ll be pulled to the front and sides with a space behind to walk back out. If you want to jump into the exact middle then take 1 of those 2 aspects that I mentioned which are really good even without that chest.

If you play on console or use controller, you do not have the ability to control the exact landing position. So ya, many times if you end up in the middle your character is frozen for 1-2 secs. There is also a bug (at least on console) where you cannot hit targets in-front of you with ice shards. I dunno if this is the same bug or different.

Funny story. I got this piece, some unique boots that give me crit, and unique legs that chain frost nova all today (2 in same dungeon). Also got the wrathful mail that after a crit all damage accumulates after 2 seconds and explodes.

At level 56 I can now do nm with monsters 10+ levels above, but like fast. It’s just a beautiful chain reaction.

Teleport in with an orb rotary around me. Usually I wait a tad after the stun. Then they all just explode. If I feel extra powerful I’ll frost nova for some vulnerable effect.
