Well, this chest piece is actually very nice and bad at the same time.
The positive aspect of this is that, the suction effect + frost nova + ice shards are really satisfying to cast. Not to mention that, I rolled a 2.9s stun on it and it’s actually good for stunning enemies via teleport as well.
However, the downside of this is that, if you don’t cast frost nova whether it being in cd or whatever, there is a bug whereby if you teleport on top of a monster and you fire ice shards, it wouldn’t hit the mob. You actually have to teleport, shift your position a little then fire ice shards.

The other downside to the chest is that you lose out on four potentially huge defensive stats plus an aspect for the teleport effect.
I got it two days ago and was pumped to try it, but had to switch back to my legendary chest with all the good dmg mitigation.

Was just typing the same thing. Chest is far too important for defensive affixes. You’re looking at dropping around 5x 20% damage reductions to use Raiment.
Same thing with Telemetry pants.

Yeah. And I’ve been using Temerity because I like the barriers as they help with staying alive and also pair with the conceited aspect. But then I saw today that conceited is bugged, so IDK if it’s doing me any good.
I guess for now if I had to pick between one or the other, with my off-brand build, id pick Temerity.
If moving for Ice Shards is too much of a hassle, shifting your builds power into using Blizzard as your primary AoE damage is easy and effective. Blizzard benefits from your +Cold and +Frost damage, and the chill application over time results in enemies being Frozen by the time Stun from Teleport ends, so even if you have Frost Nova off CD, enemies will still Freeze. With the Aspect of Biting Cold, Freeze has a chance to turn enemies Vulnerable without Ice Shards or Frost Nova. And then for the cherry on top? Glacial Aspect (Spawns ice spikes in your blizzard) is extra damage.
This is very true as well, when I switched to my 4x DR ancestral legend chest piece, my survivability also increases. Maybe, they should relook into changing the affix on that armor to give it more DRs.
Yeah. It’s a huge bummer that Sorc uniques have some glaring issues. Some are outright terrible like gloves of the Illuminator, but even the uniques with the really good and fun effects have too many downsides to get super excited.
Imagine Rainment if it were the same effect plus the following stats:
- Dmg reduction from close
- Dmg reduction from crowd controlled
- Max Life
- % armor
I can’t think of any sorc that wouldn’t be excited to find and use that item. And I don’t see why an item like that shouldn’t exist. It’s supposed to be rare and exciting to find, it’s power should be commensurate with those two factors.
To be honest with you, I’d rather stick to the meta builds until they would decide to buff other sorc spells. Right now, blizzard is also underwhelming, unlike in D2/D2R, it’s main AoE DPS spell for ice sorc. Imho, it should deal massive damage, huge AoE, and good slow effect.
Today I find that if I dodge to move after teleporting, which was needed for the above mentioned Ice Shard bug, they are now breaking apart back to where they were before the Teleport Pull, but they remain stunned.
I don’t know if this is a new change, I was entirely blind before, or a bug but it is oddly infuriating now as I didn’t thing it was happening before today.
Huge Con: using it on the boar enemies with tusks that charge you.
For some reason some times when you pull them towards you with the Teleport, it registers as if the enemies actually charged at you…
Ive died multiple times because of this.

I’ve yet to encounter this tho, maybe I wasn’t tele-ing while they were charging at me.
I lose DR if I use it, but I lose CC if I don’t. Considering most things kill you almost instantly at high tiers even with the DR, I take the CC. Also it makes farming as a short range AoE build sooo much better.
I’ve been playing frozen orb and notice this when I freeze them during a charge animation. They’re frozen halfway across the screen but the charge still knocks me back.
i agree to a certain extent. yes, if in much harder nm dungeons, then the DR doesnt matter cause you’ll probably die in 1 shot anyway. cc-ing the mobs for 2.5 seconds every 4-5 seconds (depending on your teleport cd) is way too important than having DR and kiting like no tomorrow.
again, it depends on what build you’re running. im still rolling raiment at t60s+
I have a huge issue with this item.
If you use teleport and suck in enemies, they get pulled under your feet and often you can’t damage them. Because they are closer as your min. range.
Personally I like Raiment, but Ive built around it and termety. My boots reduce evade cooldowns by 1.2 sec per hit, so i use the teleport enchant. I also have CR at 40%… so basically I can spam teleport and perma stun everything from Raiment. I also have 250 life on kill with some lucky hit life on hit nonsense. Pretty much have a barrier up 100% all the time. Im level 74 and doing NM 40+ dungeons atm.
I don’t know personally I like the build its fun zipping around and blowing stuff up. FYI im an Arch lash/orbit ball lightning build. Overall I think its a cool unique but you need to compensate elsewhere in the build to get damage reductions.
Considering that the fastest Uber Lilith kill was done in 10 seconds using Glacial Aspect Blizzard as the primary damage source, I’d say Blizzard is already pretty meta. Northwar did it live on twitch.

Does he use that build in nm dungeon pushes or was it just a boss killing build? I’m glad someone found a working blizzard build. I saw the potential of it, but leaned into the ice shards stuff on my sorc so never fully explored it. Other people running blizzard seems like they have to use ice shards enchantment with the build, so it’s not a pure blizzard build, but still sounds fun to try.
The chest dropped today for me and I observed the very same, the Ice shard wont hit the enemies at all. But that happens also sporadically without this chest when staying to close to a mob it wont hit at all. Its really annoyning
I honestly didn’t like it for the first little while with Blizz build.
Then once I got good boots with hit cool down.
bouncing around like crazy and blizz has 0 issues taking out mobs.
To be honest, feels dirty. Everything dead before 3 sec stun is off.
Granted, still grinding only 83, usually causally doing 10 lvls up. (need to make it fun or too boring)
