I will buy the game D4 for Xbox. however i travel for work… is it possible to log into my account and play the same character with all my progress on my laptop??
Yes but you will need to purchase a copy for your PC too. The progress is shared across all platforms.

Yes, because you’re not able to play the console disc… on the pc, or vice versa. It does stink, that they cant/wont make a universal download for both.
There is options like Xbox Play Anywhere and streaming from an Xbox to a PC; however, I’m not sure if they’d work with Diablo, but it might provide a solution
As far as what I have read, D4 will not be part of the play anywhere program.
