Two things, not sure about the math involved: I hit level 8 on a piece of armor, I was at 65.1% Damage and during masterwork, it stated +25% on this damage. After it added the 25% it bumps it to %75.6. This is not +%25! It should have bumped to %80.3. Also, why are some numbers blue and some are yellow?
Every 4 levels of master working you get a 25% bonus to a random affix. It turns blue. If you get this bonus a second time on the exact same affix it turns yellow, if you get it a third time it turns orange like a legendary.
Each time you use masterworking it boosts all affixes by 5%, except for the bonus levels. So if you max out your master working on one piece of gear you will get a 45% toward all affixes, along with 3 bonuses that add 25% each.
So by level 4, you’ll only have 15% in all affixes, 1 will have 15% + 25% bonus. Level 8 you should have 30% + two 25% bonuses, and by level 12 you’ll have 45% + three 25% bonuses.
Bonuses are given from the base value of the affix, instead of adding in on top of all the 5% increments you’ve gotten up to that point.
Hi there,
As far as i know - the 25% are added from the base numbers, not the already higher stats. so if you have a base number of 100, give them the 5% increases, and then the 25% increase - its added from the base value. (so its 25% added, if you hit the Masterwork-Crit).
And the different colors are for multiple masterwork crits on one stat. its blue at the first, then yellow if you hit that exact stat again (and orange if you are lucky and hit it the third time in a row)
Hope that answers your questions.
25% from base number. They are not additive.
Thank you all for taking the time to respond, your help and wisdom always appreciated. I now am a bit smarter today because of it.
