I was at 15,800 armor and it states that it reduces physical damage by 85%. I changed gear and now at 14, 250 armor and the damage reduction is the same. Does it make sense to keep increasing armor past this 85% threshold?
No. Just under 14k is the cap for the highest level of enemies currently in the game. 85% is also the highest it will go, and it only displays on-level enemies. Higher level enemies require more armor, but again - the calculations for the highest enemies is just under 14k.
If you aren’t doing NMD 100, you can even go lower and not lose any damage reduction.
i think about 14k is cap for level 154 monsters, if you go higher, like say 200, cap maybe closer to 17k… but ya, once u are at 85% anything else is useless.
Cap is 13500 or 13600 armor for harder content in the game.
On Season 4 Pit level 200 i think its around 16 800 armor
There is an armor re-work coming in the future. S4 item changes is just the first step towards it. One step at a time. I do not know if it will be S5, S6 or the Expansion and so forth. This is my conjecture.
Thank you for everyone’s feedback on this.

Armor DR calculation, you need to edit the web address to reach the doc.
Great! Thanks! I was looking for something like this
13200ish is the cap for the highest monsters. If you do 16500ish that will still leave you at cap for NM with armor breaker.
*The 85% damage reduction from armor is only physical damage.
wrong. 9200ish is cap for level 100 monsters, so overworld. 13500ish is cap for nmd100 lvl154 mobs
The only reason to have Armor past effective cap I guess is so you can run Armor Breaker NMD instead of just Salvaging them immediately. Not a reason to build for it, but a perk nonetheless. Can achieve same thing with Resistance Breaker but you gotta give up a lot to get there.
Not sure how to edit the web address, tried a few ways with no success.

Try this. I just put a space after the h in https
Thank you, it worked.
