Question - Anyone in the game industry? Was in it for years

Something absolutely catastrophic had to have happened in order for the game to miss a launch. But there’s a release version of the server as well (if you look at the bottom of the title it’ll show prod.us.2naskdalsd. There’s a release version of that at Blizzard, at least there was when I was in live service at other companies. A place where devs/qa/producers can get a feel for the game. Plus fix any bugs that have no place in the production server. When things get switched to production, that’s generally where the “live service” things happen. But moving from release to production is an on-going thing. It’s not like at one point you’re on release and next you’re working in production… Something absolutely massive happened today at Blizzard…

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttt code/submission/player tracking/stats should have been done days ago, final checks bugs that are deferred, is generally what happens before production server is ran for the masses. Something funky went on, or Blizzard is being Blizzard. Point is, they should have their stuff figured out before delaying at the literal last minute.

Anywho. First and only post. The game industry is a pile of vomit ran by jerks.
