Question about "Tracker" Glyph

Hey guys, I’m trying my own pure poison build atm this season (great damage! Survivability is… meh lol) and I have a question regarding the glyph “Tracker.”

So the main premise of my build is to stack as much poison as possible and collectively hit for its entirety on the target (and surrounding enemies) via the shred aspect Blurred Beast. The tracker glyph states in its bonus portion that “Poisoning damage effects last 33% longer.” To me, this would mean it would also do more damage because it would maintain its damage per second and simply last longer thus meaning more ticks. To the shred aspect, this would simply mean more damage as it culminates all the poison instantly.

However, when testing this (via the tooltip) I can see the duration increase but the damage doesn’t say it increases. Is this a tooltip bug or intentional? If it simply spreads the damage out over a longer duration then… I’ll get rid of it as this doesn’t help me at all lol. In fact, I don’t see that helping anyone that much unless they’re just using it for crowd control purposes but… that’s besides the point.

Anyone have any idea?

Consider that tracker when leveled up does extra damage to poisoned enemies. Have not tested myself, but that could offset or exceed not having it.

Well yeah I mean, I know that it does that still. I’m more concerned with the bonus effect though as it’s considerably more damage for me if it worked the way I assumed.

Yes, it works the way you’re describing.

You saying it actually does more damage? As in hypothetically if it did 100 damage over 10 seconds (10 dmg/s) it would now do 133 damage over 13 seconds? Or would it do 100 damage over 13s (which is what the tooltip implies?)

I guess I’d need to test it and see if the damage ticks are consistent but that’s hard to test with the amount of damage sources and I can’t play for another few days so… lol

You can test it very easily by looking at your Poison Creeper’s Active, with and without Tracker.

Well, like I said in the OP, the active damage does NOT change. Only the duration. So I’m inclined to infer that it’s being truthful but I’ve played enough games to know not everything in the tooltip is accurate all the time. I was just asking is all.

I mean, you’re literally just wrong, it changes, I’ve seen it change, you can see it change with your own eyes, do it outside of a town or in a combat zone and watch it change. You can also watch it change by swapping between Brutal and Fierce poison creeper, which is the exact same variable – total uptime.

I assure you I can read numbers. I swapped the glyph multiple times while in a dungeon. I saw the time go from 6s to 7.8 but the active damage portion remained at like 70,687 or something. It never changed. I don’t know what else to say about that. Not sure why you’re being like that. If I did I wouldn’t have made a post about it, clearly.

Edit:

I’m on right now. Switching between ferocious and brutal poison creeper does change the tooltip damage.

Changing between tracker and something else does not. However the duration does go from 6 to 7.98.
