I was wondering, they mention a $10.00 and $25.00 payment… Is this monthly, or a one time payment? Also, I am under the impression that there is no TRUE solo playing… AND You MUST be online to play… This makes no sense… All of the other Diablos’ gave a choice, but this one stated very clearly ONLINE ONLY. How do you play solo if you are online? Different dungeons that are instanced? Every instanced area I have been in only had MAYBE 5-10 mobs at a time!? This is not even close to being solo play. I know there will be a LOT of negative things said about what I am saying, but please Blizzard, make a real solo play option for us? Or at least let us load the game in an offline mode?
Those are just for the battlepass. The $25 one unlocks more of the battle pass at once. It’s a season thing that is like 3 months or so. We don’t know yet. But yeah, Diablo IV, like Diablo III, is online only. So if the servers go down for example, you won’t be able to play. Dungeons are instanced, but the overworld is not, you’ll run into other players, but honestly during the last open beta, this almost never happened.
Diablo 4 is not a solo game and it wont be possible.
You’re conflating solo with online. The two are mutually exclusive. Diablo IV can be played solo, but requires that you always be online.
Diablo 3 requires you to be online to play on PC, it has since it launched. D4 is not the first game in the series to require you be online to play.
So does this mean the #25.00 is a one time payment for the whole “kit-and-kaboodle”? OR do we lose such benefits either after the season is over, or if we do not pay $25.00 every month, like a subscription?
The battle pass if for that season only. It ends when the season ends. You will have to buy a new one for the next season but they are optional and not required.
It’s 20 levels out of 90
and there is a new one every 3 months.
Not happening. You play solo by not grouping with other people.
10$ is for battlepass and 25$ is for the battlepass, skip, and wings emote.
Seasons are every 3 months and have a unique theme, game content/quests, etc. The Battlepass is part of doing Seasons. Each Season has different rewards that can opt to get.
- Free Seasons Journey and free Battlepass track has all the quests, content, and power
- Paid Battlepass gives you access to the themed Cosmetic items like armor, mounts, and emotes.
- Premium Battlepass lets you get those cosmetics faster.
That cycle repeats every 3 months. You do not pay monthly and you can do the Season and all the important parts of a Battlepass free (with the base game purchase).
Does that help?
MissCheetah:
Thank you for the information upon question. Yes, it DID help me out, made it more clear.
To be extra clear, the cost is per season, if you want the cosmetics for that season. So every 3 or so months you would make a decision about whether you want them or not. Buy a pass each season, or not.
I am personally going to wait until I am nearly done all the BP milestones before I buy a pass (if I want the cosmetics). That way I know I can finish it before the seasons ends to get those cosmetics!.
Arki, what you say IS true but only to a point. What I mean is like, even though you are logged into the server, no one is in towns with you unless you are in a group. That is PURE solo play. But yes, you ARE correct about being online, no argument there.
D4 is not much different than D3 in terms of how it handles online. The only thing that requires other players in the entire game is world bosses, which you automatically get matched with other people for. So you can play the game, campaign and all side quests, completely solo. You may just see another player from time to time.
Arki83, well, I have experienced both sides of the coin in the last 2 Beta plays.
I just wish D4 was like D3 when it comes to the real solo playing. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind playing online, but not exclusively. Have a blessed day everyone!
Once the game is in full release, I am betting you will rarely ever seen anyone in the open world. Max is like 12 players per shard/server. When that 12 is people in all different zones/acts as opposed to everyone stuck in the same zone during the beta, it will probably feel completely solo. At least I hope so.
