So let’s say I put down a curse. Which one of the following is accurate?
- The curse affects the area for the duration and affects any one coming in after its casted while its duration is up
- It curses all enemies currently in the target area and lasts on them for the duration regardless of where they move after they get cursed
- I cannot pre curse the area, hoping to affect mobs when they walk in
I am not sure how I can test this but I figured I would just ask here.
I’m not entirely sure which curse you’re asking about but for me I’m using decrepify. Decrepify is a 1 press button to target a huge circle AoE, any mobs within the circle will be cursed for 10seconds with damage reduction and movement speed slowed. you will also notice a visual effect that will appear on the monters. With that being said, the CC slow effect doesn’t work on bosses but the damage reduction will work.
Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Both curses have the same sized target area. I know what the curses do, just not sure about the exact mechanics.
I’m confused, have you used it?
It affects the enemies it touches when you cast it (#2). End of story. It’s not a ground effect.
Due to slow casting you can pre cast it if mobs are spawning the timing isnt that hard.
What exactly is “slow casting”?
You mean the time it takes the cast animation to finish, thereby triggering the skill?
The heart that casts decrepify keeps an aura around you for X amount of seconds. I think the OP wants to know if anyone walks into that aura, will they be effected?
Because if they aren’t, what’s the point of a 23 second uptime on the decrepify aura?
It sounds like it’s only supposed to work on enemies that it’s been cast upon. So there is some confusion here.
OP never mentioned hearts or the aura, but did mention casting (you don’t cast w/ heart), so all evidence points to the contrary.
They’re asking about the base curses.
From my understanding it only afflicts those who it was cast on regardless if they walk away or not. Those who walk into the area that you just cast on are not afflicted by that previous cast although that would be pretty cool.
Notice that the circle that shows the cast area disappears after a second or so. I would think if it were to curse other walking into the effected area the circle would stay on the ground for the duration of the curse.

Its a snapshot big circle radius. It only hits mobs that you tagged with it in the instant it was casted.
Its not a ground effect, mobs walking into it will not be effected, unless theyre walking into the cast itself.

Ok so its a snapshot AoE. That makes sense.
