Hello everyone,
For the moment i notice that staggering stack on bosses when you inflict crowd control then stun the boss when full (counting as all crowd control effect) but i have a problem.
i am playing rogue and i can knock down ennemies when they are dazed. But since boss are immune to my daze spell, i can’t knock it down. This implie i can’t benefits from the daze effect to fill the staggring bar with knock down effect.
So i tought my crowd control are very good but not that good against boss. Does someone know if, when staggered, a boss can have its staggered bar filled up ? (it doesn’t seems so to me)
My effect seems to be completly useless against boss, am i wrong ?
Is those kind of effect worth it then ? (the kind : apply crowd control if already crowd control)
It seems like all CC, even CC triggered by other CC effects, contribute to staggering the boss.
If you look at a boss’s health bar at the top of your screen you’ll see the red health bar itself, which goes down the more you damage the boss. Directly under that main health bar is a transparent bar which starts filling with a dark white / ivory sort of color once you apply CC effects to a boss.
CC effects don’t cause the boss to become CC’d, like a regular mob, but instead they fill that little bar under the health bar. The stronger the CC effect, the more of that little bar they fill per application. Once the bar is full, then the boss becomes staggered.
Staggering a boss seems to weaken some bosses for the remainder of the fight (for example, Ashava will lose a wing when staggered).
Once the stagger bar fills, then the boss also seems to get stunned or knocked down for a short time & seems to take additional damage during this short stun / knockdown period.
When full, the stagger bar will turn blue, indicating the duration of the stun / knockdown period, & slowly drain until the boss starts attacking again.
Then, in my case, if i daze a boss for 4 seconds, it mean the boss is not actualy dazed but i can trigger knockdown to fill the staggering bar for the 4 seconds duration ? Does it implie that damage bonus to dazed ennemies work on the boss for the 4 seconds too ?
EDIT : I tested myself, crowd control effect with another crowdcontrol trigger condition clearly seems to be useless against boss.
Any cc you use will increase the stagger bar.
Once staggered nothing increase it anymore.
When staggered the boss count has affected by all cc. So things that give bonus damage for multiple cc stack.
When i stagger the boss the fight ends usualy becouse he dont get up.
Against elites has long has you keep chaining ccs they wont become unstopable.
By the way the affixes that gives bonus damage agains cc its multiplicative so its a free 50% damage multiplier at the end of the calculation.
Ok I was wondering why every boss I’ve been fighting becomes staggered. Thanks for explaining the way it works. I’m a necromancer with extra frost mages and apparently their ice bolts which normally chill and freeze trash mobs are causing bosses to stagger hard. No complaints here.
