Quadrillions of damage required to do pit 200 bosses

Is Blizzard for real?

Yes sir. If you are not a sorc, dont even try.

other classes will also be able to do it because of the bug, but with this boss’ HP level, does Blizzard expect someone to be able to kill this within the season?? It just seems like an unattainable goal

A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at.

Be water my friend.

Na if that were true there wouldn’t be a challenge + title for it.

If this is their idea of scaling, they need to go back to the drawing board.

My Whirlwind Barb only just recently starting hitting for up to 20 mill.

How is anything other than a completely broken interaction supposed to ever do this?

Never played D3 did you? You know how many years it took before people reached the cap for Greater Rifts?

All I’m saying is no one should be surprised at this point anymore.

no one even come close to 170+ except sorc so yeah, if there is no double triple quad dipping, dont even think about it.

Technically though - these numbers should not even exist in this game.
It’s a sad state of the degree that design blundering has reached.
It would’ve been far better to have done a total numbers smash, reduce multiplicative values(additive is much easier to balance anyway as they should predominate) and ensure there’s balance in all Skill categories - what separates them and makes them unique is their Playstyle.
When did players demand, petition or ever NEED these giga-numbers?
It’s a lost cause if this is truly the games path forward.
This is NOT The Way.

There should be inspirational posters all over HQ reminding people:
D3 #'s Never. Again.

The worst thing they could have c/p from that game.
Meanwhile people are BEGGING for a way to track quests…That’s something that should’ve been copied.
Not this arbitrary and asinine "Infinite(near) Levels and :1234: 's    "

Don’t worry, I’m sure the dev team will introduce some ridiculous scaling bug for every class that will allow them to clear pit 200 in the PTR. And then promptly overnerf the ability with the bug.

There is a difference between difficulty and a damage sponge. From 100 onwards, monsters no longer increase their damage, or change their mechanics, one thing that I find annoying is these invasions in the middle of the fight, perhaps it would be better just a mechanic from the final boss itself, so that a lilith has to be summoned out of nowhere?

All this defense would make sense, if for example from pit 150 the monsters did not increase their HP or the increase was less than 10%-15% when someone joins the party, that way there would be a group content to do.

„Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.“

I think that’s Diablo’s motto.

I agree with you. Lots of Live Service games that offer gear progression tend to run into this problem. Diablo I would say is the most egregious out of all of them, but the others aren’t far behind.

I’m not saying it’s right, but ultimately it doesn’t matter what the numbers are. What matters is how much of a percent of the enemies health bar you’re hitting for with each attack. However no one wants to see percentages instead of actual numbers fly across the screen.

Now if they just reduced the numbers by let’s say 10 fold, it wouldn’t change the overall experience. Enemies would still die as quickly, or not as quickly as the case may be. Also why I never cared about the numbers myself, just the percent of damage I do.

If I’m whittling away a boss and each time I use a powerful ability with it only dealing .25% of the bosses health, that feels bad, regardless. It proves I need to power up. Now if I’m well maxed with optimized gear and I reach this point, that also feels bad. It also proves the game is just throwing damage sponges my way for lack of anything interesting.

At which point I stop banging my head against a wall, and go play something else until changes are made. If they aren’t made I’ll go as far as I like until I get bored and rinse repeat for then next season and so on.

I’d rather be 18 year old Macallan.

I block this guy for a reason: he stays on Blizzard’s D.

Ooph, another misguided lamb. Not that I’m going to convince you one way or the other that I criticize the game more than I praise it. You do you friend, read only what you want to read and ignore the rest, like so many on here.

I very much hope we end up with D3 numbers in D4, just to see all these people that have a problem with it collectively lose their minds.

Na, Iggi’s cool. Doesn’t mean I always have to agree with him.
