QQorums (this game is fun)

With all the negative “I’m quitting, this game sucks, no one cares, blah blah blah” posts I thought I’d share that I’m having a blast and can’t wait to start season 1.

Does it need work? Of course. Wudijo and others have made well thought out videos critiquing the major flaws. Is this basically a paid beta so far? Most definitely. Do I care? Nope. I’m getting well over my money’s worth in entertainment. After 20+ seasons of D3, D4 is feeling very gritty, challenging and refreshing (almost as refreshing as all the salty tears in this forum!)

I can’t wait for season 1 and all the seasons to come.

What you need to understand is that this forum has become a sewer. People who hate the game, or just one small piece of it, will tell you that you are either a shill (had to look that one up…), a “white knight”, a Blizzard fanboy, or a Blizzard employee planting their opinion. Also, posts saying otherwise are being removed, according to the same people.

There is no room in this forum for actually liking the game it seems. If you like it, you will have to endure ridicule from countless entitled teenagers who have bought a game they didn’t like.

With that said, I like the game, and I will play S1. Does ig have flaws? Yes, major ones. Does it need improvement? Of course! Do I still enjoy it? YES!

I am gonna sit back and watch the Karens go nuts now.

The game is about as fun as watching paint dry. So if you’re into that, I can see why you like D4.

There is hopefully some room. I think this thread is an example of that. Anyways, I am glad for anyone who is enjoying the game. I liked it sort of, though it would benefit from a lot of improvement in my opinion. That being said, the OP described it as a paid beta so presumably it is understandable why some people are upset.

Anyways, the game is not awful (in my opinion), but I feel it could have been a lot better (especially after finishing the campaign). Hopefully it will be with time.

Edit: For reference, by not awful, I mean there are parts of the game I enjoyed. I would not finish the campaign of a game I considered awful, though I had much higher expectations than not awful.

No one asked, shill. The game is dead and season 1 won’t save it.

This is the most confusing part of the post.

Beta testers are the ones getting paid usually.

It’s just sort of how experiences work though. A person is far more likely to comment on a negative experience than a positive one.

We all do this. But as it pertains to D4, there’s such an expectation that it was never going to be met in some people’s eyes.

Another big part of this is that those that are genuinely enjoying the game aren’t posting here; they’re just off playing the game.

I like D4 myself. I also recognize there’s a lot that needs fixed too. Both of those things can be true.

because of people like you companies get away with it

Yes, more salty tears for my consumption.

Why would I spend my time outlining all the major flaws when they’ve already been adequately outlined by someone with far more reach than some crappy forum post?

I swear some people just can’t stand to see people enjoy themselves.

Here, have some more fodder for your flaming: I enjoy this game so much I bought it twice just so I could play it on multiple platforms.

I think this says it all, really.

The crying will transfer from this forum to POE reddit cesspool once POE2 releases, i hope very soon. Diablo 4 needs it owns space, 2 expansions confirmed, slow steps to make a consistent game, under Microsoft now.

So I can either play and have fun and contribute to the shaping of a game I enjoy or wait another year for devs and “paid testers” to still get it wrong.

There’s a vast information difference between a small pool of paid testers and millions of customers playing the same game. I’ve developed games before, and no amount of bug testing will ever prepare you for a commercial release. There will always be things you miss, especially in a massive game like Diablo.

This “instant gratification” culture is the real toxicity. No one wants to see potential or improvement. They don’t even want to struggle, they just wanted to be handed a GG experience so they cry even harder when it’s over.

The real toxicity is being ok with being knowingly a lemon.

They had 6 years to make a good game and now that they have your money it’s finally going to happen?

wew.

Squeeky wheel gets the oil. If everyone was greatful the room was only on fire a little then Bliz wouldn’t be incentivized to put any fires out.

Constructive criticism and toxic whining are leagues apart, my friend. I see a lot of the latter and little of the former. And just mentioning a streamer who provided constructive criticism seems to invoke a flurry of fabricated outrage.

This is a line egoist devs repeat to themselves so they dont have to take a critical look at their failures.

The real toxicity is smoothbrains like you that hate the game yet live on the forums because your life is too pathetic to just move on.

I mean, there have been literal tons of constructive criticism threads about what people believe is wrong with the game. In constructive ways. Very vew have been pure vitriol. The only whining seems to be coming from the people not liking that others aren’t presenting that information through rose colored glasses. That and for some reason people are piling on the “streamer notification” threads.
