In diablo 4 rare items are no longer trash, in fact legendaries are just rare items with legendary affix. Your equipment fills up very quickly so every couple minutes you visit town and must decide how to efficiently free up your inventory while the helltide event timer (or other) is ticking. Now there are so many affixes on items (damage reduction from close/distant enemies, increased damage against poisoned/overpowered/vulnerable/distant/left-handed enemies etc.) that you basically have to memorize what you want on each item slot and then compare each rare+ item in your inventory with what you currently have. Each comparison takes several seconds and it really adds up. All in all it is a chore.
tl;dr I’d love to have some QoL option to mark item attributes as favorites per item slot and then mark all items without those attributes as trash automatically. For example I want only gloves with at least +attack speed AND +crit chance. If I pick up gloves without any of those 2, mark them as trash. Favorite attributes should also be visible somehow on item, maybe green dot instead of white.
Another idea for implementing this would be to add filter/search option for inventory that lets me save different filters. Then I could add filter for gloves with those 2 attributes and they would be highlighted somehow.

All my gear now is Ancestral 750 ilevel+. So I just sell all regular and sacred rares without even looking at them and skill through the Ancestral stuff quickly to see what the ilevel is. If it is 750 or above I take a closer look at it. If not it gets sold.
Legendaries I just do a quick scan to see if it is a useful affix if not it gets salvaged.
My only issue really is that the sacred and ancestral rares could use a more distinct glow color so it is faster to tell them apart.
There’s a slim chance that you’ve sold sacred rare with perfect rolls on all the attributes you wanted without even looking. iLvl isn’t always everything, especially on jewelry, since elemental resistances are currently barely working. Plus wouldn’t it be nice feature once you start leveling your alt / new season starts?
The gear I have has pretty good stats so I am not going to go crazy looking at every single thing. Just isn’t worth it to me.
