QOL Feature Request

Please let us rename our characters. Call them User_Guid for your purposes to identify them for all I care, but make their name a label we can change.

It seems minor, but so often when I create a character, I name him something dumb…and then as he grows and I customize him…I come up with a more fitting name.

For instance I started this druid and called him ManBun because he had black hair with a Man Bun at the time. Then as I am leveling he looks like this awesomeness

and I want to rename him to Moses…and I can’t.

I agree it would be nice…however I can only imagine the SLEW of bugs this would cause based on current programmer skills. :slightly_frowning_face:

Make a new one and i’ll speed-level you to 60.

Although I like the idea, it can be abused when there are social interactions in a game.

That guy you hate and never want to see again? Well, he’s still playing with you, and without you knowing.
And that guy who scammed you once? Well, it wasn’t just once.

You should be able to block by GUID, whatever they use as a key.
Really it is not that hard, you don’t even need to change your current system, just add a display field called Display Name. And use that everywhere other than where the game needs to see you.

I’m saying this as a developer myself this is not that hard to do, call it a quick win,

I will go even further and say they are already doing this. Why? Because both you and I and anyone else can name their character “Moses”. It is not like POE2 where you need to find a unique name. Which tells me they have a GUID for lookup and a display name, they just don’t let you edit it for whatever reason.

got no issues with that - but couldnt that also lead to issues when you report rmt adverts?
