Pyro Attack Speed

Does Pyro Attack Speed actually work? Its value is not reflected on the Stats sheet as part of the Attack Speed Bonus or as a separate entry. How would I even test it? Thanks.

Yes it works and it is noticeable at 12/12 masterwork without the 25% jumps.

It definitely works, I am just not exactly sure how it works. It is not reflected in your stat frame, but it also seems like it may ignore the attack speed cap? I need a full set of testing gear to really figure it out. But it definitely appears to increase my attack speed when I am already at 100% bonus attack speed.

you can refer youtuber “wudijo” 's attack speed video.

Probably the issue is just at the UI level. Meaning they have a special slot of lucky hit with barrier, but the Fortune aspect existed at game launch. Attack speed for pryomancy skills is new. The temper very clearly works, but the UI department did not update the stat sheet menu to include this very narrow additional row. It was probably an oversight.

The only thing that is not clear for me is if this allows you to break the 100% attack speed cap or not.

It’s in the 2nd AS cap along with the Rapid & Accelerating aspects.

Is the second category of Rapid and Accelerating technically ‘uncapped’ or how much more can you add in this second category before you don’t go any faster?

Thank you for this reference, that clears up a couple of things for me.

Between that spreadsheet and some other youtube content, I have found that there are also frame caps. I guess 161% attack speed is really the maximum beneficial AS% for Sorc, or at least for Firebolt and Fireball.

161% attack speed, with 2h or wand/off? As i understand it, attacks/sec are AS x 1.2 in wand/off

For Wands at least, staves is likely higher. the cap for fireball is 11-12 frames per cast, which was at 161% AS%. And then when you drop to 160-140 AS% its 14 frames. You probably would see a benefit with staves with higher AS% since its a slower base.

Actually, did some more digging. Maxroll has a great page on all of this, including a page with the AS% breakpoints with frames per attack. Good information to know.

according to northwar its cap 1, so no increase after the 100% in the statsheet.

+Pyromancy attack speed% afaik is cap 2. 14 frame fire bolt would not be possible with a wand/dagger if it was cap 1, but you can reach the 13 and even 12 frame breakpoint (requires 167.9% and 196.6% increased attack speed respectively).

+attack speed% bonuses on gear, moonrise aspect and elixir of advantage ii = cap 1.

Add them all up and don’t exceed 100% (anything “overcap” is wasted).

+pyromancy attack speed% bonuses from tempering and rapid aspect = cap 2.

Add them all up and don’t exceed 100%.

Your total increased attack speed% = cap 1 + cap 2 bonus and it can’t exceed 200%.

do u have video evidence? since its not easy to test without a good frame by frame capture sofware.

i mean on fire builds its usually not worth to go too much AS, since dmg at a certain point just outscales its net dps gain. but its just interesting to know what is possible.

Plug: pyro attack speed should affect more than just the cast speed of hydra.

Edit: less word

for all wonder pyromancy attack speed not show attack speed but you meteor fall faster yes works

it does both work and not work. Most spells pull from Attack speed on the character sheet, which pyro attack speed does NOT feed into.

It does work on pyromancy casted spells, it just doesn’t work that check for general IAS. Same for Shock crit.

It should probably be removed as a stat, same for shock crit.

I think it was done to stop those enchants from being available to the classes at large, but the technology IS there to restrict enchants to the appropriate and intended classes.

It’s actually good because it goes into a separate bucket from regular attack speed. That means if you reach the attack speed cap of 100% on your character sheet you can still benefit from Pyromancy Attack Speed up to another 100% (be careful though as there are a few other sources of so-called Cap 2 attack speed besides this temper; see Maxrolls guide to attack speed for details).
