PVP area player was able to kill me even though I wasn’t marked for blood.

Marked for Blood means you can attack other players. If you’re in the PvP area, you can be attacked by anyone who’s Marked for Blood.

That is correct. Anybody that enters the PVP area can be killed. But you can only do the killing if you are bloodmarked, or if you are attacking someone who is bloodmarked.

This is simply to prevent two non bloodmarked players from hurting each other with AOE or something if they are helping each other out.

Oh, maybe it would be less stupid and idiotic, if you can only attack the ones turned that pvp mark on??

Yeah it’s been bugged since day 1 and they haven’t changed it yet. It’s why everyone stays out of that zone!

If you dont want to pvp, dont go into pvp area

it isnt bugged. bloodmark is for you being able to attack others, not whether they can attack you. if you enter the pvp zone you can be attacked period

There is no bug. Bloodmarked players can attack anyone in pvp zone.

FOA(first of all)

FFA:

What does FFA mean in gaming?

FFA stands for Free For All. The game mode is actually all fight against each other - no rules, everything is allowed.

In the case of D4: The PVP zones(2 tiny areas clearly marked on the map and accompanied by visual and audio cues) are FFA by default with an exception.
Blood Marked = Allows a Player to attack ANYONE in the Zone.
Non-Blood Marked = Player will not see other non-Blood Marked players as hostile. They cannot attack them, same as non PVP zones(93.25316%+ or so of the rest of the entire overworld zones)
Non-Blood Marked vs Blood Marked = Blood Marked Players appear as hostile enemies/units to ALL Players in the PVP Zone whether those Players are Blood Marked or not.
Non-Blood Marked Players will see Blood Marked Players as hostile and conversely - Blood Marked Players can attack ANY Players in the Zone.

Long story short: It’s an FFA PVP Zone. Can’t take the heat, get out of hell’s kitchen.

Imagine being this stupid and idiotic, going to a world pvp zone… and complaining about… there… being… PVP? l m a o.

Cant really make this up.

That’s how it is but it’s not how they said it was going to work so yes it’s bugged.

they never said it was going to work any differently. so not it isnt bugged

But it’s not exactly a PVP zone. If it were, everyone entering would be marked as hostile whether you wanted a blood mark or not, if it were like that, you might have a point. Instead you get blood marked and non blood marked. Adding a unnecessary layer of stupidity to the already, overly expensive and underwhelming game.

Anyone can attack and kill anyone else in the PVP zone. Bloodmark just adds you to everyone’s map, letting everyone know where you are and that you want to fight other players. That’s it.

Don’t enter PVP zones unless you are OK with being attacked.

It’s a simple choice.
Bloodmarked - you PvP as a PK
Non-bloodmarked - you PvP as an anti-PK

One would think that’s why you can’t just remove the blood mark whenever you want.
You have to leave the PvP area entirely, or go use the statue thingy in town (or at least that’s what the tutorial pop-up said to me).

It seems everyone’s intuition is that non-blood marked players wouldn’t be attackable.
I’m not saying it that’s how it should be, but I am saying it’s the most intuitive way (so since it works differently, Blizz needs to communicate that a little better IMO)

They said if you want to opt into pvp then you blood mark so yeah they said one thing and gave us another… BUGGED!

Your attitude towards PvP is bugged.
You literaly get an in-game warning that Bloodmarked players can attack you.

no bug. working exactly as they always said it was supposed to work

I don’t understand how this is a difficult concept to grasp.

2 small PVP zones.
It is a FREE FOR ALL zone.
Players can CHOOSE to be Bloodmarked and PK Players and be marked for all Players to attack.
Players can CHOOSE to NOT be Bloodmarked and, just like 99% of the rest of the game “Hi” one another and play cooperatively.

Ultimately - entering the Zone = entering a FFA Zone.
That’s all there is to it.
No Bugs. No Lies. No shenanigans.
Straight forward → enter at your own risk and considering the complaints and confusion more than likely are often derived from SC Players …there’s ZERO consequences.
