PTR Changes Rant and Sad

Masterworking system has been ruined. Masterworking was meant to increase affixes to increase affects of say deal double damage, ranks to passives, cooldowns, total armor ect now its just armor and its like man what a horrible change for no reason. Just nerfed every build in the game and most builds are already struggling. Its crazy that without ridiculous seasonal powers no build performs that great.

Sanctification- why is the brick chance 90% spend resources and grinding to get a strong roll or a mythic unique then sanctification has a 90% of replacing a affix that you need or want yo something like 400 life on hit. Affixes being replaced just needs to be removed from the pool. Honestly only things sanctification should do is give a bonus affix or an aspect. Why add bricking-fication after removing the feature of putting a second rolled blacksmith affix on gear and remove rng bricking to just add more rng bricking.

Reknown- this was a random move abd just makes the seasonal worse for it. Most people who play the season arent new to diablo so why slow progression to put already stuck reframing every season to the endgame players in a slower lane with no start off skill points. Atleast couldve linked the extra skill points to beating the base game. Players who can skip campaign have the extra skill points or something. Just another L changevthat hinders the game and not really adding anything else to the core.

Necromancer another season of blood skilltree being nerfed and gutted to the ground with nothing to make any bloodtree a pitpushing build. Bloodwave nerfed blood lance and bloodsurge sitting at the bottom of the lake. Wish these got proper scaling increases to make em viable

Druid- most worthless unique ive ever seen might as well have been a universal class utility unique. Just hate to see it be you

Sorcerer- teleport nerf was very unnecessary every class needs a movement skill and that was sorcerers. Why nerf sorcs only way of getting around faster for clearing? Horrible move honestly. Just reducing fun and making something feel more slow and clunky is not the play

Rogue- not seeming too bad but the bug with dance of knives which seems to come from having on two swords but hoping after rhe bug DoK still runs good because its about time it got some love since vessel of hatred release.

Except barb who gets perma teleport and 24 total aspects now. Because sorc was overpowered last season by performing 20 pit levels below the Barb, they decided to ruin every sorc spec, obliterate conjuration with the binding nerf, completely destroy all movement tech, and then force sorcs to be the slowest class in the game because they performed mediocre last season. Yes there was a little slowdown caused by sorcs, but this wasn’t teleport. This was ball lightning on 10 sorcs at world bosses all hitting 1000x a second for piddly damage, which they haven’t fixed. And also the bad localization that puts players from across the world all in the same game instance, causing the ping rate to skyrocket because the game now needs to update to players with 200+ ping, adding that to yours as well. This obviously couldn’t be the problem though, so we’re going to just make sorc trash and act like they fixed the issues.

Can’t agree more. I’m glad Barbarians got Leap improved. Leap looks fun from the people I’ve seen run it on PTR! But there was no reason to at the same time wreck Teleport. The Skill version can’t instant reset, so it’s not as if that can replace the Enchantment for people that really want the fast teleport; it was CDR-intensive before (outside of S11 Chaos Flickerstep which is a specific seasonal interaction); and one of the biggest reasons many people take TP Enchantment is just because other Enchantments are bad and they’re stacking CDR for their Ultimate or whatever. You can’t even use both the Skill and the Enchantment together to sustain casting it. At the same time, the Jah Rune + AREC boots are also better than the Enchantment. What happened to class fantasy?

And for an actual Teleport build, the change is devastating. The new Oculus makes it seem like they want a Teleport build to be some kind of option, but the Damage PER hit is down because of the Mystic Teleport change and Masterwork changes, and then on top of that, the NUMBER OF HITS is also WAY down because of the cooldown problems. The closest you can get to fixing the cooldown problem (which still doesn’t fully fix it) requires giving up your Amulet Aspect for Bounding Conduit, which means even more lost damage since that’s a +50% aspect bonus slot. That leaves you, in the very best case, with a 0.98s Teleport Skill cooldown. So instead of being able to do ~26 Teleports in 8 seconds (using 8s because of The Oculus) now you can do about 8, and each of the 8 does about 70% of the pre-patch damage, so 8x70%=560% compared to 26x100%=2600%. It’s about 21.5% of the pre-patch damage as a build before even counting all the other damage decreases like losing Crit Chance, passive ranks, additive damage, etc. from Masterwork. Complete trash.

And it not only can’t kill enemies as well (which makes the Raiment reset chance a joke), but it’s clunky as hell to play.

Every build in the game should be nerfed A LOT more.

How about we got down to something remotely reasonable. Like no build ever doing more than 100,000 DPS.

Not only does the TP take much longer, its your dodge. It dosent sound that bad, but when you have hands on. Its such a disappointment.

Best bet now is for them to delete S11 and let 10 run till the next expac releases.

Not sure I will indulge the expansion. With the way 11 is looking. I got the Vessal of Hatered, look at all of the nothing they did with those areas.

Between the S11 preview and the last 3 season overhauls, I’m losing hope quickly for the expansion. None of these changes are hitting the mark.

Yo Shad.
You can balance a game and nerf damage numbers without:

  • Destroying Build diversity
  • Ruining the fun of builds
  • adding a weird armor and resist system that nobody needed
  • a questionable Masterwork system
  • your dumb comments

ah yes - 30 minutes later you chipped off 5% of the bosses health bar as you face tank him - great idea!

You sure can balance a game and nerf damage without destroying build diversity, since the very purpose of doing those is to increase build diversity.

And yes, to increase the fun of builds. To get away from mindless blasting.

I agree the armor and resist changes seem bad. Dumbing them down even further.

Obviously also nerf monster HP to follow the fixed dmg scaling.

My guess is sanctification is supposed to be an optional gamble to give you feel good moment dopamine hit and cause you to continually chase multiple times.

In theory this is true.

In practicality in the game they have it is not true, it is depressive.

Unless you are a content creator, someone who can spend multiple hours a day, or a systems hacker. You don’t get enough god tier items, have enough resources to make items god tier. Most players make do with items they can get close enough to good. You’re not going to risk sanctification particularly on any cooldown or breakpoint build because they were gutted with Mastework changes.

Masterworking is not just a menu simulator.

Any cooldown build or build which would require skills with charges just got gutted.

Quite honestly and not being all gloomy this just sucks.

Your character got weaker, ok, season 10 was hella strong.

Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of fun interesting builds just got gutted. Maybe people find new ones and there are people who play for the enjoyment of finding the new build.

A massive amount of fun just got deleted from the game in both player power fantasy and enjoyable builds.

Replaced with a RNG system which is supposed to make you feel good when you score a hit but just makes you want to log off 4 out of the 5 times you interact with it.

And this is on test where you can just go buy a box with more awesome stuff in it and keep slamming it in the forge.

When the average player logs in and doesn’t have skill points they have previously had, is slower, weaker, dies more, and has to slog thru capstones and fights that are just slog fests, my prediction is not positive.

the actual difference in pit levels between sorc and barb is FOUR!!!

the sorc nerfs make no sense but then again the barb was not buffed in a few seasons now. always last or second to last in pit, meanwhile spiritborn is outperforming everyone by almost 20 levels.

the point is not to nerf anything to the ground. if people want tedious leveling and weak characters they can always go and play poe
