I don’t know if im understanding the patch notes correctly but it seems that druid is getting some qol changes in functionality which is good, however we are also getting some nerfs.
Now, i don’t mind nerf and adjustments but from the looks of it this nerfs and adjustment will only affect underperforming builds. For instances, staff of the crone which is probably the weakest build, keeps getting weaker and weaker. First we had the thunderstruck node capped at 60(x), fine, we got the mjolnic ring and the new reworked version of the staff of the crone. Overall, the build is performing better than last season but not by much. Now, with the nerf to wildheart hunger we don’t only lose the bonus 60(x) but we are also forced to use bestial rampage key passive. Hunter zenith was also a decent option for this build but now is forced for core skills only.
At the same time there are no changes to the functionality and damage of basic skills. Stormstrike still has that dumb “deal 20% less damage each time it chains”, this should be deal 20% more damage instead. Also, they should change how skill ranks scale with basic skills or increase the base damage of some basic skills.
Overall, doomslide and all his variants seem to be still the meta for crushing the endgame and speedfarming while other builds still felt left behind. Shred maybe will be a bit better with the new aspect but is just one aspect.
Finally, in before someone tells me we don’t know about the new powers like runewords or the new powercreep from glyphs. Yes, we don’t fully know how that will impact the game but from my experience playing weak builds for fun and theorycrafting, this builds are going weaker and weaker by the season and i keep feeling forced to “watch guides” or play how they want me to play instead of feeling rewarded for my min max efforts and grinding.
Rabies wasn’t reworked or even buffed, which is disappointing.
In addition to that, the rabies damage temper was outright removed. The duration temper is now supposed to be our primary temper I guess. The problem is that it does not increase the damage of rabies, leading to a dps loss. That is a bug, and I see no indication in the patch notes it was fixed.
Just play spiritborne. The new druid. Also give them $$$
Quickshift and Heightened Senses nerfed.
What are they smoking?
crap, i didnt see that one, quickshift was pummeled.
It looks like Quick shift lasts indefinitely while shapeshifted though. It only drops if you are in human form for 3 seconds.
I really like companion builds and am more upset that they converted Companion Finesse offensive temper to a weapon temper instead of just adding a new temper manual. Necro gets to keep both Summoning Augment and Summoning Finesse
how is the change a nerf
quick shift went from 8/16/24% to 6/12/18% and you lose the stacks if you spend 3 sec in human form. Right now, there are some interactions that if you quickshft too quickly it counts the seconds of the skill being active. For example, lets say i spam earthen bulwark as a warewolf by using nature’s fury key passive, i may lose the stacks because every time i switch to human to cast the skill it counts towards the 3 sec timer.
Heightened Senses has the same issue, although the change in its functionality is good.
Quickshift is still important for human form builds and its value will be lowered.
Werebear/Werewolf builds don’t really care about the 8 seconds timer anyway. The only benefit of this change is that we can keep Quickshift buff during prolonged Grizzly Rage.
oh i completely glossed over the changes to the numbers. the requirement changes are a nice QoL addition though
