If you are using a PS4 or PS5 controller (wireless) on PC and want to see Playstation button icons instead of Xbox icons simply do this:
- Use DS4Windows (chances are that you already do)
- In DS4Windows create a new profile and assign it to your controller.
- Edit the controller profile and go to the “Other” tab.
- Set “Emulated Controller” to DualShock 4.
That’s it. Diablo 4 will now show Playstation controller icons instead of Xbox icons.

I had to sign in just to say thanks! It worked when plugged in via USB cable; but when I used my DS4 wirelessly, I’d get the wrong icons. Your fix worked great. Of all the useless threads I read, I wished I had seen yours first. You can also just edit the default profile as you recommend rather than creating a whole new profile.

You’re welcome, glad it helped someone!
Bro I got a problem though, DS4 wont recognize my PS4 controller + its with USB and diablo4 still shows me XBOX cant find any fix
I am not sure if you need to connect it via Bluetooth. I don’t use a USB cable.
Works great but when i use Steam Link ( remote play with phone ) and launch battlenet ( thru steam ) the game uses xbox layout and DS4W does not show controller connected idk if its possible to change it…

I am using bluetooth on PS5 on my PC. I had follow the step in creating new profile with
- Under “Select preset” Tab, “Presets” = Gamepad and “Output Controller” = dualShock 4
- Under “Other” tab, **“Emulated Controller” to DualShock 4.
When I launched Diablo-4, it is still showing XBOX icon instead of PS5.
Any clues ?
