If you can, please do your DC before the week rolls. This is a community quest which will unlock rewards and cosmogs for the whole community… if “enough” people complete it.

I just completed it for my second week, no Khazra cosmetic drops and no head to give to the community altar…
when I go I can see the purple diamond on the map, but no head… do I need to do it again even if I opened my chest?
I would help if it had a solo mode lol

AFAIK you only do the head thing once… but you’re right in that it keeps wanting you to do it again.

It’s not as bad as it seems, and you might be surprised by liking it and change your perception, as I was before.
Since I wanted to be able to give my opinion and judgment, I had to try it else I couldn’t give my 2 cents on something I never tried.
Just like trying a Durian for the first, and last time lololol

im betting it ends nov 8th or there about… same time as people have to earn longfur.
Interesting thing is I cant find anything about this quest except for what it says in game. Last year they at least posted the rewards for the blood drive…

the first time you run through all the DC wings you visit the square in kurast. There you place the head of zagraal and earn a mount called long fur. thats only for a limited time, if its not done by early nov you cant earn the mount.

Do you know if you can still complete DC multiple times for the cosmetics drops? I believe those can drop randomly from any mobs.
EDIT: I of course meant if you can complete it several times in a week.

Yes you can run them multiple times. The transmogs have a low rng chance to drop when fighting the middle and end stage bosses. very much a ymmv kind of thing. Ive run about 100 I think? have only 3 of the greater transmogs (t4 only).
The consensus among citadel delvers is that zagraal is the fastest/easiest for farming transmogs. dont bother with the khazra bonus, it doesnt affect the transmog drop

Agreed. Due to time constraints/responsibility I usually solo but would still like to contribute to community events like this. Enhanced party finder or a solo run option would be nice.
I was hoping this would be the case before running it this week for the mount.
It is actually worse than it seems in my opinion.
Like, i was hoping some of the mechanics would be interesting. And some are…but…not the ones that require 2 players to coordinate. None of those are fun.
“Stand on platform A while I stand on platform B”. Not a fun co-op experience.
“Go left while I go right”. Not a fun co-op experience.
“Enter that room while I stay in the other one”. Not a fun co-op experience.
Basically every single part of the coop gameplay requires you to split the party entirely and…play alone…
That design makes no sense to me.
Those raids would be equally good if the co-op mechanics were not part of it or adjusted for single player.

Wait, so even if I do the task I don’t get the rewards unless enough other players who I don’t know or have any affiliation with also do the task? Tf is this?
Its not clear at all what the reward even is…
At least you get the mount if you do your clear before Nov 8. (Which is also quite stupid…why would they time gate a mount? But it’s D4…so…)
Here’s how I first imagined the Dark Citadel: every four hours, all three wings open. Three groups can sign up for a wing, and you don’t even need to be in a party—you just meet up at the entrance, like in a Legion Event. Once all three wings are cleared, the groups are brought together in a boss room, like the world boss fight, where everyone takes down the boss and earns their rewards.
I would love to see Citadel as a world event like Legions.
I was thinking rather about a different wing opening every 15-30 minutes (if it was every 30 minutes, the player would wait for a specific wing they want to do for max 1 hour) and people gathering at the entrance like they would at Legions. But your idea sounds good too.
