During the beta / server slam and on release my partner and I played couch co-op with no problems. Perfect connection, silky smooth gameplay.
Since the server maintenance on (I think) the 13th, it’s been awful. Constant rubber banding and frequent - every 5 seconds or so - pauses for up to 5 seconds.
Even when it’s not visibly pausing, it behaves strangely. Abilities don’t correctly target enemies (my barb stands in one spot lunging at nothing two or three times before he advances to the enemy 10 feet away), and mobility abilities are wildly unpredictable.
We have 3 PS5s in the house, and we play 3p online games often (Destiny, Borderlands, Back 4 Blood, Alien Fireteam, The Ascent, etc, a lot of games). Nothing else ever has a problem.
I’ve tried all the wifi tips, turned off cross play, ran a cable. Turned off everything else in the house so the only thing on the network is the PS5. Nothing affects it. Called our ISP and they said there’s no issues with our connection.
We try Diablo every day, and every day since that server maintenance, it’s the same. We’ve done our best to just enjoy it as is but we’ve hit a wall where we’re dying constantly due to the pauses.
I just wanna know if this is something Blizzard accepts as an issue, or if it’s considered entirely our problem. If it’s the latter, that’s fine, whatever, but I want to know if I should bother holding out for a fix or just clear the space on our PS5s.
