Day by day it is getting worse. Unplayable atm.

It’s unplayable for me as well. Beta + Early Access worked great. Other Online games working perfect. Yes… im on 5GHZ, Yes… ive turned off Crossplay. … etc.
What sucks most: I don’t hear any response from Blizzard yet, that they acknowledge the Issue and working on it. Many have this problem on PS5.

getting really frustrated by this, 4-5s freezes and then death, makes some of this content obnoxiously difficult

Just wanted to chime in with the same experience others are having. Ps5, constant lag and rubber banding. I’ve muscled through it to clear the overworld map and altars but anything over WT1 is a bit of a gamble. I’ve done the port forwarding, dns, static ip, provider refresh etc. Nothing helps.

I was having horrible lag on ps5 so i went and bought a land wire connection for my modem and i havent lagged since. 10 dollar fix

Get a landline that fixed it for me. Wire directly from modem to back of ps5

Yes, that fixed it for me too.

daily update that rubber banding is off the charts - i have no connection issues and this is only impacted diablo 4, not even diablo 3

I can usually play smoothly on days/weekdays. It’s lagging/unplayable on nights/weekends. Had a similar experience when OW2 first launched. Playing on PS5 with wifi here.

It’s rubber banding pretty hard for me now as well. It’s always been a bit laggy but it’s just awful now.

Mine is unplayable again tonight because of this. I’m playing Necro (disabled mages since there’s a cutscene bug with those) so every time I see my minions stop shuffling about, I know it’s happening again. I just died twice trying to get to a side quest. Not even in a dungeon or doing the quest. Just dying to trash mobs I didn’t see load in until after i was dead. It’s crazy how bad it is.

Nobody else is on my internet right now (it’s 3am here). My PS4 is on the DMZ wifi so it can’t be ports or firewall troubles. I have a 94% wifi strength, and never had an issue with wifi strength before. I can pull up video streams at max resolution perfectly or play any other game like Overwatch 2, Destiny 2, Warface, World of Warships, Genshin Impact, Warhammer Chaosbane, and a couple other random online titles I tried on the same console. No issue at all, yet Diablo 4 is unplayable lag, rubberbanding, and disconnects.

Really disappointed that such a basic issue as server and online stability is an issue for Blizzard. They should know better or should’ve designed Diablo 4 without the online requirement. I wasted my money if they don’t acknowledge and fix something on their end.

I would say maybe it’s performance-related? But I don’t get any kind of stuttering, graphical artifacts, environment loading issues, or crashes akin to performance problems. It seems purely like server instability, and normally you see a company acknowledge that and working on it via a Tweet or forum post. So what are they doing???

edit: just wanted to note I disabled crossplay a week ago (makes a difference but didn’t fix it completely) and don’t have the option to plug it in to the router/modem. So no help for me there either.

Cheers I’ll give that a go.
Sucks as well, was doing a nightmare dungeon tonight all I got was rubberbanding, made the objective item bug out so I couldn’t pick it up

Same issue here. We had perfect perf in the server slam, but since last week’s maintenance it’s unplayable outside very early in the morning (4:30am - 6:00am). It was better today than yesterday, but still frequent - every 10 seconds or so - pauses, rubber banding, and the game rushing to catch up. Very frustrating.

Edit: Not my internet. Every other game performs 100% fine, zero noticeable lag. It’s just D4.

Internet is perfectly fine, no issues with any other games either. They must have server and perf issues. I dropped my resolution to 1080p and get noticeably less, but still unplayable, stuttering and rubber banding. Dropping graphical demand helped abit, so I’m assuming it’s perf as well as server issues. It’s very frustrating to spend money on an unpolished game, but thems the days we live in I guess.

Wanted to drop a reply here since this has been fixed for me. Two things happened at the same time so I’m not sure which fixed it. The June 17 Hotfix (June 16?). Also, I deleted the install on my Ps5 and reinstalled it. Since then I have had no rubberbanding or input lag. I have crossplay enabled and have done some world events without issue. Good luck fellow rubber banding sufferers! Just know that when it is fixed, in the words of a wise man, ā€œIt feels just like heaven.ā€

I bought an ethernet splitter so I could run my ps5 directly off my cable modem. Unfortunately my wifi router was happy but my ps5 wasn’t. I went back to Modem > Router > LAN with router. I replied earlier that this did get fixed for me but the splitter didn’t help. I appreciate your advice though and gave it a go.

Deff not playable on ps5. Almost couldn’t beat the prologue boss because you literally couldn’t avoid mechanics. A lot of the time there was literally 2 seconds of lag. No issues with any other pan games. Diablo on pc only rubber bands when getting into the main towns. No exaggeration saying the game is currently unplayable. Even worse today.

Why has there been no official response?

I just want to state that for those who are curious if it’s PS5 hardware only you are dead wrong. I play on the Xbox series x and let me tell you the rubber banding has been a nightmare the last 36 hours. I too cannot play hardcore because of this. This is a back end server issue and nothing to do with local hardware. As most everybody has stated, even my internet is stellar with almost no latency and my upload and download are phenomenal.
