The resolution is wrong even on the PS’s own menus, when Diablo is running.
Turning off 120 did help me — thank you! — though I’m not sure that makes things entirely right. VRR isn’t supported by my TV, says the console, so I couldn’t try that.
does blizzard test core functions of the game before patch release?

Yeah, it’s not right. It seems bugged. They probably wanted to introduce 120hz support to the game, which is great, but the implementation is poor. There’s no toggle, the same way there’s no toggle for HDR which is still broken btw.
Anyway, I hope they fix it asap and also provide some actual in-game options.
Obviously not, every patch they break something that was not broken.
At this point and time they just need to rollback the update and release it when its stable.
If I try to play with the horrible graphics, the lagging is also horrid. I feel very sea sick. I had to stop playing.

I am also getting this same error message on PS5 and as the initial poster states the game looks dull and can ef tell it’ at a lower resolution.

I am in a similar situation as the rest of you.
I’m using a Asus Rog 43inch gaming monitor. No resolution issues here, but certainly ’ something went wrong’ everytime I change toons, or log into one
More worried about the bug, e-ffffffffffff than visual stuff, lol… kicks you after awhile… and the lag…
Yes, it drops to to 1080p, not only in game but the whole PS5 system until you close the game. The fix is to go in PS5 settings and disable 120hz. I always have all may games on Performance mode, not quality. Hope this helps!

A few of my friends were having the same issue and stated it’s borderline unplayable. Any estimation on a fix blizz?
i have the exact same issue - only have issues with D4, all other games are fine with no issues

Maybe when they said Diablo IV is “PS5 Pro Enhanced” they actually just made it downgraded on PS5?
Same for me. Looks blurry and the shadows are foggy. The resolution does not hit 4K anymore in my opinion.
Had no problems since launch, but now it’s totally messed up and i getting headache from playing
It was never real 4k . Not even close at all .
I guess the problem is that checkerboard upscaling from 1080p-1260p is failing and you see it in 720p without the upscale .
1260p is the top for in D4 for PS5 and Series X in Dynamic Resolution that goes from 1080p
Problem probably should be a fail in checkerboard and then having as result the 720p of PS4 but without the upscale that PS4 does to 1080p .
If checkerboard fails the Anti Aliasing fails badly too and then is even worse going blurry and that causes a mess that gets the quality even lower than 720p …
Same problem here, hdr problem and low frame rate than before. Can’t play the game actually because of that. I tried to unistall and install again but nothing. (Yes i also disabled settings on graphic to improve fps but nothing)
