Proposed System Changes

I have some suggestions for Blizzard, but I’m curious what others think. And no, this has nothing to do with Helltide (but seriously, fix helltides).

  1. Add Stat modifiers to skills. For example, if intelligence is higher than strength, Upheaval gains 100% more area and 100% physical to cold conversion. Stats could be more meaningful, and something like this would give players a reason to spec into something other than the core stat. It also works in tandem with the Paragon system. Yes, this would be a massive overhaul of the system, but right now the system is pretty much nothing but generic % increased damage. We want more ways to customize our abilities. Speaking of which…

  2. Add skill-level breakpoints: pumping fireball to 6/5 or 7/5 grants an extra projectile. 9/5, fireball pierces or chains. To go even further, start taking legendary and unique powers and roll them into the skill tree. Add more branches. Add branches that only open up after a certain level of investment.

  3. Give the blacksmith an option to decrease level requirements on the gear you find (with a maximum threshold to prevent having Level 1 Ubers). This would create another gold/material sink and give players the ability to farm gear for alts, allowing them to craft their own leveling gear sets.

Bro, they’re still trying to balance the base function of skills and you over here talking about elemental conversion and damage radius
